I saw a recipe in the newspaper a couple years ago about a women who researched all the food mentioned in the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" and then wrote a cookbook. They printed the recipe for the Lane Cake which I tore out of the paper and finally made a few weeks ago. Of course I had torn part of the directions but found plenty of them online. It turned out good but was time consuming to make and not you're simple cake to put together It is hearty and I wasn't sure I liked it at first but it got better the next day. :) Could have used a bit more bourbon.

It looks lovely and delicious, although I don't like the taste of Bourbon much myself so light on the Bourbon would be good. The juxtaposition of the cake pictures with the cute dog in the E-Collar made me :lmao:

Off to google TKMB recipes, unless you can remember the names of the ladies who wrote the cookbook? TIA. :goodvibes

Sorry. I don't remember the lady who wrote the book. I read you can use grape juice instead of Bourbon (or brandy as indicated in other recipes)
