Landry's restraunt "Select" club

I don't know about the club, but I have to say the service and food we received at the TRex was horrible :confused3 I actually really like Rainforest, even have the safari club card, but TRex was just bad.

Hi Tkitty-Just to clarify-I did ask about the Select Club Card at the Rainforest and he said that none of the Disney restaurants take that card. I'm anxious to see what you find out on Monday. I would hate to spend the $25 on it and be disappointed that we couldn't use it when we got there.

Sounds like a great deal. Waiting to find out what you hear on Monday.

Yes...I haven't spent my money yet.;) We'll see what they tell me on Monday.

Ok-I just called the Rainforest at DD and the DO NOT accept the Landry's Select Club cards at ANY of the Disney locations (Rainforest, T-Rex, Yak & Yeti).

I just called T-Rex in DTD- Yes they honor the Select Club card! Yeah! And I asked him a few ?s, and it is just as it states in the above link. Sounds like I'm joining!

:confused3:confused3:confused3

After reading this thread, I've decided to stick with the free gift certificates($25.00 each) I can get from mypoints. I have 3 so far. I'll redeem the points I have for one more before our August trip.

Hey OP I don't think anyone would lie to you on purpose - but we all know how misinformed CMs can be. Was the person you spoke to a manager?

The website says the $25 birthday reward is for during your birthday month. I read that as you get $25 to use that month but if you don't it's gone. I don't think you can keep adding up bdays on the gard for awhile to get a free dinner. "Birthday Reward: members will earn a $25 reward on the first day of their birthday month that can be redeemed anytime during their birthday month. Birthday rewards are not eligible for deferral and will automatically be applied on member’s first visit to the restaurant during member’s birthday month. Birthday rewards expire on the last day of the member’s birthday month and will not be extended."

Right there, you can't let it sit there for later. Keep all this in mind to see if it's worth it.

We visit Rainforest Cafe once a year so I will just stick with my safari club and my free my points gift cards I think.

If you read the fine print it lists all restaurants except the ones in the golden nugget in las vegas. http://www.landrysselect.com/termsConditions.aspx

If I lived closer to one and didn't just make it a part of our florida trips maybe it would be worth it to me but they don't count anything you buy in the shops and they don't count free stuff and I usually have some free kids meal coupons (I got them on ebay) so there goes hafl my point earnings.

The Safari Club is just $10 to join now - a limited time special from the usual $15. I saw the offer online the other day and my sister joined last night. It is for a lifetime and you get a $10 credit within 6-8 weeks. You immediately get the free appetizer or 10% off your meal and continure to get this each time you go. This is at all of Landry's restaurants I believe - Joe's Crab Shack and T Rex and the Aquarium are the ones near me. I haven't received them recently (but I think that is because I apparently haven't been in a year until last night) but I also get a birthday gift plus anniversary gift such as a free volcano or something. I joined years ago because I feel like one of the biggest perks is going to the front of the line. Instead of giving my name and waiting an hour or more to be called back and then going to be seated - I just get in the line to be seated. It is like having a reservation any time I want it!

Unless they have changed the terms the safari club is only lifetime if used 1x every 12 months. Otherwise the other things you mentioned are true. HTH We have been members for years and if you let it lapse 12 months you have to rejoin. Also T-rex takes it but not all Joe's Crab shack locations do, it's up to the management.

The priority seating is not just a jump in head of the line thing though. It's sort of like if it's not booked all the way up you do but if the line is out the door you can still wait up to 20 minutes, you are just put a bit in front of other people. You still have to put your name in.

Hi- I called Landry's Select Club # today. (1-866-995-6925) The Lady was very sweet, and tried to answer my questions about T-Rex etc. She explained that this is a completely new program, she only had the info that is on the web site, but they are doing their training meeting tomorrow. So she couldn't say with certainty that this offer is good in Downtown Disney. She took notes and questions from me and will call me back with answers tomorrow.
She thought that it was good at T-Rex but wanted to find out for sure.

Thanks for the update. Are you going to call back in a few days after they have their training?

The way I read it was that you join for $25, they send you your card with $25 on it, which I beleive is good for 1 year, then on your birthday month they add $25 to your card to use during that month only. If this is true, then our trip is during my DHs birthday month, and it would give us $50 to use at that time.(I believe $50 or 500pts is the max on the card until you use it to bring the balance back down)
I have a call into them, and will see if I read it right. If so I will spend the $25 to join, to get the $50 to use on our meal in Oct.

The gal said she would call me with answers to these questions when she is sure, I will post so anyone interested can get in on it. Or let you know if it's not going to work! I'm sure i'm going to have even more to ask her...

According to what I am reading on the website right now, Only Landry's Seafood, Muer Restaurant, Chart House, and Saltgrass restaurants are participating.

I have the Safari Club and can use the 10% or free appitizer at T-Rex, but was told we couldn't use the jump the line portion.

If you have the opportunity to ask another ?, and you think of it...I'd love to know if Yak and Yeti will be participating in this...

We will be in WDW in Aug. and will be eating at both Rainforest and Y&Y...and it is my birthday month!

Thanks for keeping us updated on this!!:goodvibes

Just bumping this up for this morning. I hope it works too! We plan on going to the Rainforest and T-Rex and will be there Aug/Sept. September is my birthday month so we would get the $50 also. Plus, I have about $175 free GCs from My Points to use so we would be all set!

I was hoping to update today. This new program was to have a training day for those involved, but no call yet from them yrt. I will be off work tomorrow, and may have to call again.
Even though their website is up, I did som snooping http://www.landrysselect.com/SelectClubFeatures.aspx and found this-

"The Landry's Select Club program is currently a pilot program. We are not accepting new applications at this time, but we invite you to come back in August to join the reward club with unsurpased quality and value."

So...I will keep watching, and see what happens. I guess this explains why there's not too much info out there yet. It will still work for me. :goodvibes
