Our plane will get us to the resort around 10 pm. What are our chances of getting the room we requested? Last time we checked in at 10 am and we got the perfect room. I am worried that we are going to get stuck with whatever is left. My main concern is that we are going to por and need to have a first floor room...my sister will be in a wheelchair. and we have a water view...those are my 2 requests, a first floor room looking at a quiet pool.

Well, whatever you get.....at least you know your room will be ready when you check in!! And you may get exactly what you requested!!!

This past Dec. our flight was delayed one hour which meant we didn't check in until about 11pm at POR. We didn't get our room request for AB, we were put in Acadia House, and to our surprise we really liked the room and location. Sometimes the unknown works out in the end.

If they know your sister will be in a wheelchair, your odds of getting a first floor room in AB are good, as there are no elevators in AB. However, if you do by chance get put in a mansion, they do have elevators.

I'm assuming you've called and asked them to note it on your reservation? I would guess they would give you a water view because it's more expensive and you've probably already paid for it. I would call them about a week before leaving to confirm and then again within 24 hours before you check in. The more reminding you do, the better. If you stress why first floor is important and tell them what time you are checking in, they should be able to accomodate.

I didn't realize the mansions had elevators, that's good to know. There will be 5 of us, so I know they have to put us in AB, because there are no trundle beds in the mansions. We did pay for a water view so i know we will at least be looking at a quiet pool, which my dd's want.
