when booking Poly for land and sea pkg do they only use certain longhouses? If so, which ones and which room numbers would you request?

When we did our land/sea vacation we stayed at the Poly in the Hawaii longhouse, concierge garden view rooms, third floor. I don't think that we HAD to stay in that longhouse. When we made the ressies, they asked if we wanted concierge and I said yes. So, I don't think that you are restricted to one particular building.

did you have to pay extra to have the concierge room with the land\sea pack

thanks:smooth:

How much more is concierge service? We are staying at the BC.

Not really sure what the cost was when we did the land/sea in 2002. I was a newbie and just booked it w/ Disney. I've read here on the boards that it would be cheaper if you booked each portion seperately instead of as a package. I believe that concierge level rooms are more $ than standard rooms. You could go to the Disney website and "pretend" to book a land/sea package and see what the price would be and then switch and book each portion and see what that would cost.

I did the Land/Sea at the Poly in April 04. Prior to the vacation I did alot of research on the subject (although I wished that I had done so before commiting to the Land/Sea).
If the previous poster got concierge rooms in was a fluke. This may have been during some of the recent renovations that the Poly has gone through.
Concierge is not available for Land/Sea clients in advance, even if they want to pay extra. If there is availability when you check in, you would have the option of upgrading at an additional charge. I do not have exact figures, but believe its roughly $120-$150 per night extra.
Land/Sea vacationers get Garden View. Should you be using the Disney Transfers, you would only be put in a few long houses. I was in Tahiti.
I was actually very impressed with my Garden View Rooms. I could not see any of the parking lots. It was a very quick walk to the transportation center monorail station.
While at the Poly, you should try the character breakfast at Ohanas. The food was very, very good (and expensive).

I was told by Beth at DU that at poly with the 7 day land and sea trip you could only get garden view, but not any view with concierge. Atleast that is what she said.

I don't know if it was a fluke that we got concierge rooms for our land/sea package. Our trip was in Aug of 2002, so maybe things were different 2 yrs ago. All I know is that we had garden view concierge, Hawaii Bldg. 3rd floor. We had two connecting rms at the poly and 2 connecting staterms on the Wonder.

Whatever, it was the best vacation we ever had.

You can indeed request the concierge rooms for a land/sea cruise (land portion) DCL will find out if the rooms are available, then contact you with the pricing for the upgrade.

We did a land/sea pakage this pat June 04 and stayed at the Poly. About a month prior to arrival I called the Poly directly. They said I could ask upon check-in if there were concierge rooms available and if so i could pay $100-$150 per night to upgrade. They then told me to call back 3 days before arrival and they would have all my reservation info on hand. I did call back and requested a room in the Tokelau longhouse on the quiet pool side and on the lagoon end of the building. It worked out perfectly. We were in a "garden view" room (we could see the Castle from our balcony) and in an excellent location close to everything.

We plan on doing the same thing on our next land/sea package next June 05.
