Land-sea package/luggage question

Hi...Not much of a poster on message boards but I'm sure some one here can answer this for me...If you have a package booked (3land-4sea) and you are driving yourself to port instead of using Disney transportation does (or will) disney transfer your luggage anyway? Thanks for your help!

Well, yes...it can be done. You are staying at WDW first on the package, so you should be able to leave your luggage outside your room that morning with the DCL tags and the baggage people will pick them up and transport them to the ship......but, make sure you notify the DCL desk at your resort that you want the bags picked up and they will make a note of it....also tell them that you are not taking the bus, so they are not waiting for you.

Last fall we stayed at the poly to ride out hurricane Jeanne (were supposed to stay at the Radisson by the port by they evaculated). We had a rental car that we needed to return at the airport and caught the bus at the airport for our ride to the port (ft. lauderdale)....our bags were left at the Poly for DCL to handle back and take to the ship.

You should call DCL now to confirm that they will do this....am I correct in assuming that you do not want to lug your bags in a rental car and could possibly get a smaller size car if you do not have the luggage with you???

Hi...thank you for responding to my question.

You were half right about not wanting to lug our luggage in our car. We are driving our own car along with another family and their car. We are meeting a third family that will be flying to Disney. We are all on the land/sea package and I thought if we didn't have to take our luggage to port with us we would have room for the third family to ride with us saving them the transportation fees.

Sounds like from what you said we can make this happen...Thanks for the advice.
