We are WDW veterans, but we have never been to Disneyland. We have one DD who is 6. Does DL have BBB or something similar? Any tea parties or restaurants that we shouldn't miss? Also, is there something similar to Magical Express which will take us from LAX to the Grand Californian? Thanks I feel so out of place planning for DL...

There is a BBB in Fantasyland. Blue Bayou inside POTC is commonly suggested. No DME, but there are shuttle companies, includinga themed one, where you fly into is a bigger question, since there are 3 primary airport options.

There is a game of musical chairs with characters -the Mad Hatter, Peter Pan, Wendy or Alice are frequent participants- at Coke Corner at the end of Main Street. Usually it is around 2:30 or 3:00pm, but doublecheck my time on the boards (or with a CM). You daughter should love that.

The Disneyland Express is a full sized bus operated by Grayline which will take you directly to DLH, then on to the Grand Californian. But it's not operated by Disney so you pay separately. http://graylineanaheim.com/docs/DRE Brochure.pdf

The logisitics are different in SoCal. In Orlando Disney is a big fish in a small pond. In SoCal Disney is a small fish in a big pond. There are six airports that serve DLR unlike the primarily one that serves WDW. And DLR has half the visitors of WDW, and of those a much smaller percentage fly in. And finally there are less Disney hotels at DLR and less need for Disney to keep folks "on property".

Bottom line is no ME at DLR. Not because DLR is inherently less organized but because the landscape is different.
