grrr i am having such a hard time finding one.

am i being silly for NOT getting a cordless?? i thought people can hear what you are saying with a baby monitores with a cordless, this is why i want the one with the cord.

what kind do you have??

I wish we had one with a cord...then we'd have at least one phone that we could always find. Fabulous invention.

We have mostly cordless phones but keep one corded old kitchen push button phone for when the power goes out as the others do not work then of course.

Only place I have seen wall phones lately is at the local telephone company and they still had them on the wall for sale, maybe yours would too.

Have both and the landline corded one does not get lost :rotfl2:

As far as privacy goes, that used to be the case years and years ago, they say not so much any more.......

We still have a corded phone in our bedroom for those occasions when the power goes out. I just turn the ringer off because I also have a cordless phone in our room. (It's one of those phones where we keep the base in the dining room with a handset and then you get two other handsets with small bases to put in other rooms.)

we have 2 cordless and a corded one. I love the corded one since it doesn't matter if we lose power or not. (although now that I have cable phone, I suppose that changes...hmmmmmm)

we got ours at potterybarn. looks like an old fashioned dial one, but has push puttons (in a round disc) instead of rotary.

We don't have a landline at all. My parents do but they have all cordless phones.

We have several corded telephones. Try Target.

we have both.

You can find the corded ones at place like Wal-Mart and Target. There aren't a huge selection of them, but usually there are 2 or 3 to choose from.

Actually, EVERYONE should have at least one corded phone -- if the power goes out all those whiz bang nifty cordless phones with all the cool features are completely useless, while the simple corded phone will still work as long as there is a dial tone.

Last December when our power was out for 5 days in Vermont we were VERY happy that we had a corded phone to use -- our phone service worked despite the lack of electricity.

I just bought one at Wal Mart a week ago. I prefer cordless, but the one with the cord was the cheapest so it was the one I bought. If you can't find one there, maybe a place like Salvation Army, Goodwill, or a consignment shop will have one.

Or you could go the other way - my corded phone is Goofy :teeth:

I've got the old fashioned type with the cord for a number of reasons. One of our phones even has a dial. ;)

I have corded phones that existed from back in the days when dinosaurs roamed the Earth and we didn't have cordless phones. Hung onto them for when the power goes out. :)

No dial phones, though I do very well remember using them.

When the power went out for days, I hooked all the jacks up to corded phones. DS answered a call downstairs, but wanted to talk upstairs. Told his friend he'd have to call back so that he could answer it up there. :rotfl:

I had to teach him to go upstairs and pick up the receiver and say, "I have it" so that I could hang it up for him.

Don't know if that amuses anyone else or just me. Today's kids really do live in a different world.

We had a dial phone when I was little. I was really happy when the phone number I was calling did not have a lot of 9s in it.

Remember when you rented your phone from the phone company.

How about those party lines? My grandmother's nieghbor was always on the phone when I needed to make a call. I just wanted to tell her to get off but since I was a kid that would have been a no-no.

we have 3 cordless phones and a baby monitor and none of them ever interfere with each other.

we keep a corded phone in the garage for hurricane season or long term power outages.

thanks everyone for your help!! I will go to either walmart or target today and look for a corded phone for the kitchen. I do have one cordless phone which I use for around the house.
