I put a deposit on a land and sea package on Christmas day for a trip next new years. When I priced out the land and sea package it actually came out cheaper than booking separately because a room at the Beach Club is hugely expensive. In the meantime we took a look at our situation and decided that we will be traveling to Orlando enough this year to buy AP's. Can you opt out of the tickets that come with the Land and Sea package? Thanks.

Many people find that it is cheaper to book the land/sea as separate events, instead of as a package. There are many reasons for this. The passes are one reason. If you do a land sea, you get length of stay passes for the parks. If you do not arrive at WDW until late in the evening - you have pretty much wasted the pass for that day. Likewise, your passes would be good for the day you board the ship. I don't know many land/sea people that have actually really used the pass this day.

If you book separately - you can do the cruise first, and then the land.

Booking separately allows you to specifically pick the accomodations you want. I.e. the Contemporary is not available as a land choice for any land/sea combo. If you want cheap land accomodations and a verandah on the ship - it's not going to happen if you book them together.

More DIS'ers will have other reasons - but I have to go now.
