i heard bout it yesterday. and im not too shocked. but i dont think its kool or n e thing. I'm not really that big of a gay supporter and I'm pretty much against it. but i think too many ppl are being to accepting of gay people.

*no offence towards gay people i dont hate them or think they should go to jail or nothing like that. I just dont agree with it at all*

No, the people that are supportive of gay people are those who've realized that it's not right to discriminate against other people. It goes along the lines of sexism and racism.

Why don't you agree with it?

(this is an honest question and I would like if we could do this without getting mean about it. :) )

Bellhop: I'm not racist or sexist against gay people . I even said that, I just dont agree with it. I have nothing against gay people personally.

Sparx: Well I'm a pretty religious person. And it says severel times in the Bible that homosexuality is wrong. I know that there is no degree of sin and me cussing is no better than some one being gay. But it's one of the abominations (spelled right?) that God tells Moses when they are going to the Promise Land. And I think that two people of the same sex being together or getting married is just not right at all.

God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. And he took a rib from Adam to make Eve to show that a man and a women are supposed to be together, because what does your rib pretect? See, the way I look at love, its a relationship between a man and a women, and God. When you are taking your vowels at a wedding, you say them infront of God. And the man and the women that are in love, they are in love through God. So what I'm saying is when a man and a man, or a women and a women are in love, I dont see how it could be love because it's not love through God, and I think you get love from God, because he was the first to love, and he created love. I think hes the seed of love.

I am not trying to offend anyone at all and I dont want to start anything I'm jsut sharing my opinions. And if I have offended anyone I'm sorry, but that's what I beleive. I'm just totally against it.

while I disagree I do respect your stance and understand your point. I know that we'll never agree on this, but thank you for answering my question. :)

Yea its cool, we got our differences, and I dont agree with you either, but I respect your opinions.

Sure Sparx. :)
So now that I've answered your question, would ya mind answering mine? What's you view on it, and how do u disagree?

Why is everyone turning this into a big deal?
:confused3
Okay, yeah he's gay. Okay, yeah you two have different opinions on it.
Why make it such a big deal just because he likes guys.

We're not making it into a big deal. We're jsut sharing our opinions. What's wrong with that?

It actually does say Adam and Steve. You just read the mistranslation of it. :teeth:

(Sorry if this offended you)

Well here's my view on it...

Now, I'm what you would call a somewhat religious person. I mean, I believe in God and heaven and all that stuff, but I don't really go to church, (because I hate the idea of it), and I don't believe everything in the bible. I believe a lot of it was blown way out of perportion. I don't really pray, and I don't really worship. I believe my relationship with god is like this. I don't ask him to do much for me, and I don't expect him to ask much of me in return. However, when one of us needs help, the other will be there for each other. Kind of like that old friend you never really talk to, but you have each other's backs in times of trouble. I have more to say on the issue, but it would take all night to type out, so I'll kind of skip ahead.

Now, if two gay people wan't to get married and live together and all that stuff, it's fine by me. Honestly I don't believe being gay is a choice. I didn't just wake up one day and decide to be strait. They didn't just wake up one day and decide to be gay. It's a lifestyle that I'm willing to accept, and live with. I feel that as long as they don't bother me about it, I'm fine with it. Sure the Bible says Adam and Eve and not Adam and Steve and all that, but as I've stated before, I don't believe everything in the Bible. It wasn't written by God, it was written by a human being just as inperfect as you or I.

I also would just like to say, I actually do believe in a degree of sin. I think that the guy who swore a lot probably has a better chance of being forgiven and going to heaven than the guy who killed 30 people. I mean, I have a cousin going into the second grade. I've heard her spew a few swear words that she's picked up from wherever. If the fact that she's sworn makes her no better than say, a Charles Manson, well then I just don't think anybody has a shot at heaven, seeing as how, we've all sinned at least once in our lives, and anybody who hasn't is either REALLY deticated, or has lied.

Also, this one comment has just been bothering me. Don't ask me why, it just has.
God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. And he took a rib from Adam to make Eve to show that a man and a women are supposed to be together, because what does your rib pretect?
The ribs protect, more or less, your lungs. Sure they also protect your heart, but if they wern't protecting your lungs as well, they wouldn't go down the length of your chest. Alright, that's out of the way. Lol.

So just to sort of wrap up my opinion on the whole matter, if Lance Bass says he's gay, meh. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. :confused3

Whatever float's their boat.

That is exacatlly what I wanted to say, but the way I was going to word it was going to make me look like I didn't know what I was talking about.
But, I totally agree with you.

Well I think that there is no degree of sin at all, because it says that in the Bible. I know that you dont beleive alot of it, but I beleive every word.

And I'm not saying that he took a rib from Adam because of the whole it protects your heart thing. But its the principal of it. He took a part from a man to make a women, wich brought the man and the women together, and I think that it's the way it should be.

And I'm not saying that gay people just wake up one day and decide to be gay. I'm obviously not gay and I dont have much experience with gay people, but heres how I see it.

Back to the religious part of it: God doesn't want you to be gay, so I don't think he would let you be attracted to the same sex. I think a person that is gay has decided that on their own because they were under influenced or something like that. Like just because a guy might think another guy is good looking they assume they like them. I'm not saying thats how all gays are and I'm not saying I'm right, but thats my opinion. I dont know how gay poeple come to the conclusion that they are gay, but I really dont think they are gay truly.

Like I said befor, I think the only way you can get love is through God, because he's the seed of love, he created it. Thats why he created Adam and EVE and all of us, becasue of love. So i dont think a man can really love another man or a women could love another women. It's like they're convinced that because they find some one of the same sex attractive or like being around them that they must love them, but I don't think you really can.

And I dont care that Bass is gay, dont think it's right but thats his buisness. If some one is gay it doesnt fase me and I dont think any different of them it's there buisness between God and them and I'm not gonna shove my beleifs down their throat. But I'll share what I beleive and my opinions with them.

So all I'm saying is I dont think being gay is right, and I dont agree with it.

Again, I'm sorry if I offend any one for this. I'm not saying I'm right, but I'm sticking to my morals, and just sharing my opinions. I'm not meaing to cause fights, and I'm not throwing flames at any one. It's what I beleive.

I'm sorry I missed your post until now

I believe gay marriage should be legal. Not only should it be legal, it should be accepted. I look at a straight couple the same way I look at a gay couple. In love.

Now I could go on and on about religion, but I'll leave it at this. I don't believe in a god or higher power. I don't believe in the bible, nor do I think our laws should be made around it. after all everyone is not christian.

I don't believe being gay is a choice. So I don't believe that we can punish people over it.

I've gone to this thing called The Hopeline, this online 1 on 1 chat. It's a Christian advice thing, with trained counsellors. One of them told me that I was God, God was in my heart. That if you believe in him, and his son, he was in you. That you carry a part of this around.
Love is genderless, God is genderless as well. We may refer to him as HE or such, but if he lives in all of us, that would be make him every bit girl, and every bit boy. He loves us all, so why should he care whether or not you're gay? If you are happy, somethings gone right, and you are following your path, the one that HE created for you.

I get your point Sparx, I don't agree with you either. But I see where your coming from. I dont think that gays should be punished either. I think they should have the same rights, except for marrige and adoption rights. But other than that I do think they deserve to be treated equally.

Sorry If i made you think that I don't think a gay can be Christian. I think they can be, and I think that if a gay truly loves God and follows his word, than he will go to Heaven.

I'll jsut wrap up this whole debate, unless someone else wants to comment. In my opinion being gay is just not right, but I still don't think they are any different than a straight person. Their views on love on just different, and not exactly the best the way I see it. But we all have our differences and opinions, I was just sharing mine.
