My father passed away from cancer in 1999, so I purchased one of these bracelets to wear in honor of him. They're very nicely made and are a great conversation piece...I've seen a TON of guests wearing them in my resort. Anyone else have one?

I would guess at least 1/2 of our city is - we're in Austin. DH and I wear ours everywhere!

I've also seen a number of people wearing them in NYC this week.

Where do you get one? Do you have to order them online? My friend Dawn passed away from cancer last February at a very young age. I would love to wear one in her honor!

Thanks!
MCMom

I bought a youth pack of ten and an adult pack of ten. Cancer has taken many lives from me and my Dad is fighting cancer right now!
BTW, I wear a youth one. If you order, take a look at the measurements.

I was thinking about this last night. Lance Armstrong is raising a lot of $ for cancer research through these very simple bracelets. $1.00 a piece.
I would love for Disney to offer something similar (Disneyish) for a buck and let the proceeds go towards something similar. I think it would be a great thing for Disney to do and I think a lot of people would buy them knowing it is for a good cause.

My sister and I both got them the other day. They were selling them at the bank for $1 each. Not many people in my town, but today in the mall it seemed like EVERYONE had them on ::yes:: :D

The bracelets at the Wear Yellow website are backordered except for the $50 pak (40 adult & 10 youth). It is also out of stock at niketown.
There are a lot of people selling them on eBay for a PROFIT.
But I found an eBay seller who is selling them for NO profit to him. They are only $1 each and .50 cents for shipping. That's who I purchased from. It is a "Buy It Now" item so you can purchase it immediately and no chance of others bidding up the price.

Wow, I have been noticing lots of people wearing them, and I had no idea what they were for. What a worthy cause! Cancer is such a terrible disease that we MUST cure.

I got mine today in honor of my aunt who just had her second tumor removed earlier this month. Here's hoping it's the last one.

I understand people want to get these wristbands off EBay, but please consider getting them straight from The Lance Armstrong Foundation so the money goes to the people it should. Here's the link to his website:

I'm in Portland OR (home of Nike) this summer so naturally everyone has one. :D They're sold at Niketown and I think I heard that some of the May department stores were going to be selling them. It's amazing how it's spreading... did you notice Lance is even wearing one in his Dasani commercial?

And yes, please buy them straight from a store or online, not from someone on ebay who's profiting from what's supposed to be a charity fundraiser.

DH and I went to the Sarah McLachan concert tonight and she was wearing a LIVESTRONG yellow bracelet too.

You might want to check at local stores that sell Nike products. I know Finish Line has them for sale on their web site.

Our local store was selling them for a $1 each in a box by the register. A small price to pay to help a great cause.

We all got ours yesterday. I ordered them 2 weeks ago from LAF

I've been handing them out. Go Lance!

The laf.org website is the same as the Wear Yellow website. They are all backordered except for the $50 pack (40 adult and 10 youth).

From eBay seller scott8x3g:
"It shames me that so many fellow ebay’ers are selling LAF wristbands for personal profit. I am not. I am a member of the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s Peloton Project. My goal is to raise money for the LAF. Simply buying these wristbands for $1.00 helps achieve this goal. The Peloton Project is the LAF's major grassroots fundraising and outreach initiative. Comprised of cyclists, cancer survivors and other volunteers who want to make a difference in the cancer survivorship community, members raise funds and awareness for the LAF in their local communities. In 2003, 6500 Peloton Project members collected more than $4.3 million in donations for the LAF to continue helping cancer survivors live strong.

I will have purchased these Livestrong Bands purely to support the LAF and stop others from profiting for themselves. I will continue to sell them on eBay AT COST so long as they are available and you keep buying them.

I will pay the eBay fees associated with listing this item. I am only asking $.50 (fifty cents) to cover the cost of USPS irregular mail postage and envelopes.

There are others on eBay who are selling these purely to proceed LAF as well. I encourage you to support and buy from these people only!!! Thanks for looking and supporting the LAF! Together we can and will find a cure for this horrible disease!"

The link to buy from him is in my previous post.

::yes:: The seller I purchased it from was selling it for only a $1 to send to the foundation, but I accidently sent $2. I told them to just send it along to the foundation (this my $2 price for the bracelet). I would never purchase one from someone trying to make a profit for themselves on this item.

I just ordered one from the seller that legs22 was talking about- Thanks for the link b/c I haven't seen them in any stores around here! I ordered it in memory of my ex's Grandmother who I was pretty close to (lived w/ her for quite a while). She died of brain cancer last month. To make the bracelets even better (to me, at least) is that they are yellow which was her favorite color.
