We just went for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The cost is the reason we had not gone before but with an AP you get a 25% discount off the Category 2 tickets.

I absolutely loved it. I will definitely go again.

Yeah that price just seems outrageous. We haven't been yet and I know we would love it but then again we don't know what we are missing. We are going with my husband's aunt and his cousin in January and they want to go and said they didn't think that cost was too out of line. What I cannot seem to make them understand is that we have 4 tickets to buy not just one like they do. Anybody ever do this and regret the money they spent?

Well, it's cheaper than the Cirque tickets in Vegas - all Cirque shows are expensive. Even when the group tours it's pretty expensive.

I don't think Disney has much control over what they charge. We have yet to go but it's on our trip to do next time, I have heard it's great!

Cirque du Soleil - La Nouba is an experience like none other....unless of course you've seen one of their other shows. And if you say you've seen them on television, well, it still doesn't compare to what you get in person. We actually paid full price for third row seats for La Nouba in 2003 and thought we got every penny's worth. It may just be that DH and DS are musicians, DH does local theater and I just love to watch, but once you try it I think you will find that you love it.

If money is an issue, go for the less expensive seats...yeah, 3rd row was awesome, but I think you could do fine in one of the less expensive sections, sections 101 and 105 are front row, just off to the sides...we sat in section 103 and the view was great. Or move up to sections 206 and 202 rows aa through ee...next to the doors might be pretty good.

It was such a wonderful show that DH, DS and I wanted to walk right back inside and see it again...think about going...

Laura

I agree completely with you...Mom and I were blown away by the show and after it finished, my Mom said she could watch it all over again. I bought the DVD in the store afterwards but it's not the same. We also had the expensive tickets as we had the first row in the second section dead centre.

I'm going to try for tickets the next time we are in WDW.

We felt it was well worth the money and being a Canadian multiply the tickey price by 1.30 to get what we paid in Canadian funds. OUCH!!!!!

I totally agree! I bought tickets last year and it was my first visit to WDW let alone a Cirque show. Just before the show started we nervously laughed because we spent $200 on two tickets and had NO clue what we were about to see. I'd never relaly heard or new much about cirque. Well, about 1/4..to midpoint show, I knew I was in love! Before we came home from our trip I stopped in thier gift shop and was purchasing dvds, soundtracks, etc.. Im now trying to build my cirque collection. It brings happines to me. I trully think its worth every dime (if you have the option to spare it). I think the performers salaries range from $25grand-75grand or so on average. But not many can perform the way these actors do.

As for Disney, they dont really have control over the show, etc. It was just built on disney property because of the popular tourism. There are 4 other resident shows in the world.. they are all located in Las Vegas. All other shows are traveling the globe. I think I read that Cirque will be building a theater and having a resident show in Tokyo Disney. I could be wrong.

Either way, we already have our tickets purchased for this Novembers trip! Wahoooooo La Nouba! :Pinkbounc :sunny: :Pinkbounc

La Nouba is possibly the most over priced show I've ever seen.

Is it good? Yes.

Is it worth a near-$100 price? Never.

It is also probably the least impressive of the Cirque shows, so if you are very familiar with them, you may be a little disappointed.

Again, it is very good. But not jaw dropping unforgettable good like other shows.

We are going to be giving it a shot if they would only open up their 180 day mark to the current day....frustrating.

I have also heard that it is worth it, and we have 6 tickets to buy...4 adult, 2 child...OUCHIES!

Elaine, you have the exact seats I am going for...did you call exactly on the 180 day mark? Was it pretty easy to obtain them??
Or were they running behind like they are now, and you had to keep checking??

I just went through the "180 day" thing also. They hadnt updated their website and it was more then 2 weeks past the 180 mark.. I called the Cirque box office in DTD, who then called the corporate office in canada. They said they update the site every couple of weeks. Well eventually my dates were available.. The first seats it offered me were the seats of a section I was hoping for. I was delighted. If you go through the website and you dont like the 'seating' offered.. just back out and resubmitt again. (keep a map of their seating chart open so that you can see where your going to be. Hope you get the seats you want!

La Nouba is no more expensive than any Broadway show, and it's a great show. In fact, a Sat. evening performance on Broadway, with bad reviews, can still cost $125 per ticket!

All theater shows are expensive. La Nouba is no exception an among the cheaper of the seats to get. Broadway shows, for example, will set you back $95-$110 per ticket for Orchestra depending on the night. Between the rising costs of theatrical equipment to rising rent around the country (La Nouba does have a lease on the DD property), prices will continue to get higher and higher. 20 years ago an Orchestra ticket to a show was under $45... the price has more then doubled. Most people tend to think of seeing these type of shows as an "experience" and not an everyday thing.

A lot of people have the "know-how" to find the better deals on ANY show. Most every single show out there has ways of getting cheaper tickets. Whether it be an annual pass, pre-ordering before the general public or knowing a code from any of the countless promotions. When I lived in NYC, I'd see B'way show all the time - (sometimes every weekend!) - for $20 each ticket - FRONT ORCHESTRA, because I knew when to go to the box office and what to do (lottery, early morning line for same day tickets, etc.). It's just how it is .. the "original" prices won't be coming down anytime soon.

We saw "O" last summer in Vegas and paid about double of the La Nuba prices! But boy was it worth every penny! :wizard: We plan to see La Nuba in Feb. and it will probably seem like a bargin at these tickets prices! :teeth:

All the Cirque shows are expensive. We have seen a few and they are really amazing and we feel, well worth it!!
