These are just a few things I did and hope someone may find helpful. A couple of months ago I had to purchase a roll of clear contact paper for a project and it came in a 25 foot roll so I had lots left over. It works well as a lamination tool too.

I have laminated the following:

- I cut the maps out of my Passporter and laminated them so I could have a small map to look at instead of the big park maps.

-I made a small piece of paper with all of my confirmation numbers(i.e. air, hotel, PS), times (flight, PS, towncar) dates, and phone numbers (resort, towncar)

-I made a spreadsheet of what park hours will be while we are there and reduced it to 6 pt. font.

-I found a spreadsheet online that showed Disney transportation and altered it to just those that I would need. Then reduced to 6 pt. font. I put the guide on one side and the abbreviation key on the other side.

-Lastly, just for fun, I made a copy of the way to say "Hello" to CMs at the World Showcase.

I think it will be easier to carry these items in my pack instead of pulling out a larger piece of folded paper.

I hope you can use some of these ideas.

i noticed there is a DFW meet this sunday?
AT the Rainforest cafe?

I live in Carrollton too. What time?

a roll of clear contact paper

This is a good idea. I bought the expensive laminating paper at an office supply store, and there were only a few sheets for almost $10. I ended up wasting a lot of it with mistakes. The clear contact paper is a great idea because my dollar store sells it by the small rolls.
I want to make my own luggage tags with the logos of our resort, and I want to laminate the lime green (sonic/alien green LOL) Mickey heads. I carefully peal the head off the white background paper, put two together, write out Dis info on (Dis on onme side and my name Aisling on the other).

Thanks for the contact paper idea!

I am heading down in September and I plan to laminate some name tags for my kids to wear or carry in case we get separated. I printed some great name tags off the web. I believe the site was www.disneydollarless.com but I cant confirm that as their website appears to be down right now.

The name of that site changed - it is now The Mouse for Less

How do you actually use the contact paper to laminate? Directions please :)
I am not a crafty soul haha

cats,

It is actually pretty easy. I'm not crafty myself.

Figure out how big a piece you need (I believe the roll I have is 18" across) and cut it off the roll.

Cut it in half.

Take the paper backing off one half

Place your object on the sticky side.

Take the paper backing off the other half and place it over object.

Cut off the excess and you're done. You may have air bubbles but it is very easy to use a credit card or something and push them to the edge.

Have fun!

Susie

Awesome!
What a wonderful idea!! Thank you shatzjsl!

I will definately do that... I have had things laminated before on trips and it really helps! I just have never heard of this method! Much cheaper!

Was looking through some old threads that I started last year and found this one. Hope these tips can help someone! I STILL have some of that 25 ft. roll of clear contact paper.

I make id tags for my DD. I will find a tag off the numerous Disneythemed clothes that is bought for or given to DD. Usually the tags have just a picture of mickey or princess on the front and the item description/ price on back Then on the computer print out her id info. Usually like this:

Asthma
Mom cell phone
Dad cell phone
Granny's phone at home

DD's name
Mom & Dads name

Then I print it. Cut it out. Position it on the back of the tag. My id info covers up the product info. Cut it all so it fits into the laminate. I usually get the laminate packages at the dollar store that are already sized for luggage tags with a hole at top for attaching it to a tag. I find this size works great for her. Then just peel and stick. We usually attach to her lanyard like the medals they sell at disney. This is her special necklace which she loves to wear because it has her fave charaters on it but it is different then what everyone else has. I think I got this idea from an earlier post. It may even have been yours shatzjsl. Thanks if it was!

can you post the site where you found the spreadsheet on wdw transportation?

This is a webpage format and it has a link to download the Excel version: http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/transport.html

To make it smaller, I just deleted the rows and columns that I knew I wouldn't need. Like hotels I knew I wouldn't be going to.

Thanks for bumping your old thread...I'd just recently been trying to figure out how to make a bunch of laminated homemade bingo cards for our 2-day road trip to WDW, without having to pay a lot to laminate them. I thought of the clear contact paper, but wasn't sure how successful it would be--so thanks for posting your experience! Now I'm going to be a "laminating fool" too! (Gotta love the banana! :teeth: )

P.S. I'm a Susie too! :wave2:
