Lamest Moms Only Weekend Ever!

So, after planning a girls only weekend nowhere near Disney (which, it turned out, was mother's day weekend--oops) with some college friends, my trip has somehow turned into moms and kids at Disney weekend. Actually, it's me and my oldest (five years old) son, a friend whose never been to Disney and her son, and my best friend. We'll be going on a very short trip, just three days the second weekend in May. Husbands are staying home with the younger kids. I can't wait.

But it just goes to show you. You plan a moms only trip and you feel start to feel guilty and all of the sudden, you're at Disney.

One of my other girlfriends has informed me that I am the lamest person she knows. Shhh . . . don't tell anyone. I'm happy it turned out this way!

I think your trip sounds perfect to me! I went on a mom's only trip this past November to WDW with 2 college friends and I would much rather have gone with my DS! We happened to be there during the Food & Wine Festival. I was so excited to visit the booths. NOPE! They just wanted to sit by the pool during the day. When we did go to Epcot, it was just for dinner! I was so disappointed. I don't think I will ever go to WDW without my DS again. It didn't feel right being there without him. I'm a single mom but my mom lives with us and my DS and I don't get much time just the 2 of us. I love the one-on-one time I have with my DS on our trips.

I think you will have a wonderful time and it doesn't sound lame to me!

Awwwww.... I'd love to have a lame mom's only weekend!!! I get the guilty feeling everytime DH and I plan a "couple's weekend"... needless to say, we've never had one! The kiddos even accompany us to dinner on our anniversary! I know I need to cut the cord already, but it's just too hard!
