Lame tattoos

I got a "W" inked on each butt cheek...

When I bend over it says WOW

:rotfl2:

(not really...)

I used to be totally 100% turned off by tats on girls, but as the years went by, now I actually think some are sexy if they are done cool, like a nice ankle tat. Tats can and are wayyyyyyy over done by some people, it is not cool IMO for a chick to have a Tommy Lee arm covered from shoulder to finger tips, not attractive at all IMO.

Now the lame prison tats that some people do, I have no idea what they are thinking. What, you thought it would look cool during job interviews to look like you've done hard time? :confused3 Don't get those at all.

Interesting. I know in some places one's area code is like a symbol for the area (usually urban)

It was big with my dk's agegroup a couple of years ago here in New Jersey...just a debate on which area code had the best people!
"732" :laughing: T-shirts, FB groups...that kinda stuff.

Oh and I've actually gotten so used to tramp stamps now that I think those are sexy too.

I am NOT a fan of tattoos. The ones I find the most lame are the totally overdone ones. The vine of barbed wire around the bicep for guys, the butterfly on the ankle or tramp stamp for chicks.

I have seen some really touching ones honoring a lost loved one. If they can be covered up, all the better. A woman I work with has a trail of stars on her hand. Every time we're in a meeting I can't help but stare at it and think of how much that must have hurt. Hands are so boney!

My friend in high school got a butterfly right below her belly button, when her stomach was flat and firm. Years later she had a baby. Then she had another one. Hoo, you should have seen that thing spread its wings, and then pucker right back up! Thankfully she has a great sense of humor about it and she loves to "scare" a bunch of us by lifting up her shirt and yelling "Ahh! It's just emerged!" It's all faded and gross looking now, lol. She always says that was the stupidest place to get it.

Note to young ladies: a tattoo on the belly is not a smart place! Choose somewhere less likely to expand and contract.

Wasn't there a band that used that as their symbol? Biohazard maybe? Friend of ours used to like them I think, I remember him running around with a can cooley with that on it.

No tat's for me, nothing I've found I want on my body forever. Not opposed to them, just nothing that fits for me. My sister has two, one is a faerie that her ex drew up for her. It's actually really beautiful, she has it on her hip. I talked her out of putting it on her calf. She did end up putting her son's name above her ankle though.

Doesn't Charlie Sheen have one on his nether-regions that says something like "back in 20 minutes"? Thought I heard that once on Bob & Tom.

Thats a good thought, but no, he was sitting in a car one day on the highway, and said "whats thats sign mean??" and thought it was cool. I think he was also either very drunk, or high when he got it done... lol He was a friend of a friend.

I have another one though - a good friend of mine from HS got a tat across his chest that says "The dude abides" I think its from a movie.... but REALLY?!!?!?!?!? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I went onto that Failblog site. Some of those tattoos are :lmao: and some are:scared1:.

The person who writes the captions though had me rolling.

Honestly, if you aren't a good speller have someone proof your tattoo before it is permanently etched. Wouldn't you think the tattoo artist would do that or have a dictionary on hand?

The other thing I don't understand is people who don't speak an Asian language want tattoos in Japanese or Chinese calligraphy. How do they know that's really what is says?

I remember one time my father (who does speak, read, and write Chinese and we are not Asian) pointed at someone's tattoo in Chinese and said "I don't think that's what they wanted tattooed."

I have two tattoos, a Celtic knot on my ankle (my mom's side of the family is Irish) and a tramp stamp (hate that term) of a bouquet of daisies (personal recovery testimony, if you will). I justified them both because I can hide them if needed. I would love to get one with my daughter's (and possibly future kids') name, but I'm not sure where.
And I totally agree about the belly tattoo. Most people get guts as they get older. So the hot, 20-something bod that had the awesome tattoo may not look good after babies/gaining 20+ lbs. Plus I think it would really hurt!

I have a Pegasus tattoo on my right hip. No special meaning other than I love horses and always have, it's more of a line drawing/abstract. My left ring finger has the word "gra" (with accent mark, I'm on the iPad and can't do it) tattooed on it, as does my husband. Gra means love/respect in Irish.

My next tattoo is going to be around my wrist, my kids names, each separated by a mickey head. It will be thin enough to be covered by sleeves, bracelets or a watch when needed.

I have always disliked tattoos of "realistic" people/things. They never look right to me.

The worst one I have ever seen was on the back of a guys neck, it was the swear word beginning with 'F' Off.

It was just horrible, at the time I saw him he was sat on the beach with his family and I thought what kind of role model is that?

They all have me scratching my head. Permanent body graffiti I just don't understand. It's all hideous.

:thumbsup2 Last summer my DD's and I went to a wedding shower and there was a lady maybe mid20's we kept staring at her, because her back looked very hairy she had a dress on with a low back, after we got up to eat we realized she was just tattooed all over her back. It was nasty looking.

Jmho

I knew a guy in high school who got a home made tattoo of a huge Pentagram on his leg. That's not the lamest part though, both the guy and the "artist" were wasted and instead of black ink, they used purple ink. Nothing says "Bad A**" like a purple Pentagram.

Tattoos with grammar/spelling mistakes make me go into hysterics every time (but I do feel bad for those inked permanently with those mistakes!)

You know, they weren't always called that......when I got my tattoo on my lower back almost 10 years ago now, they were not called "tramp stamp" tattoos....

One of my best friends is 100% Japanese (born in SF but her parents are both emmigrants from Japan so her blood is pure lol), she speaks and writes fluently. I considered a tattoo with Japanese symbols to represent my 3 DD's, but we couldn't come up with a good design using the symbols they use for the words I wanted so I decided to skip it. But her tattoo is a butterfly with 3 Kanji's instead of a body, it suits her perfectly! That said, the ONLY wait I would get one that was in an Asian language was if she helped me with it, because I know I could trust her to do it the right way. :) :)

I hate that term also, it didn't always have that negative connotation, I wish it would go away. :) I go to a club pretty regularly (couple times a month on average I guess) and there's a girl there who's really pretty, has a great body and has 2 colored star tattoos on her stomach.....I know, everyone can see them with the tiny tank tops she wears. LOL Anyway, we always say that, "gee, can't wait to see those after she's had kids" LOL.....some people don't think it thru before they get inked, then they regret them later on.

Love the 2 that I highlighted! I want one on my anklet, with the girls initials and flowers with Tink over it with pixie dust being sprinkled on their names. :) I have 1 DGD so I was considering a double and putting her initals in that one with spaces for more grand kids...considering I have 3 girls I know I'll have more grandkids. :)

My Mom worked for a courthouse, she would "clear" the convincts as they passed thru to the courtrooms...one inmate was a particularly nasty guy who had his EYELIDS tattooed...yes, eyelids....talk about skeevy, but what was worse was what he had on them.....the right eyelid said F***, the left said you......that way he could "blink at the judge and tell them off without saying a word"......ya, skeevy!!!!
I also knew a guy years ago who had "Tool" tattooed on his arm....his forearm.....he said "I like the band a lot" but in reality my BFF and I thought it just really fit his personality. lol He was a bit of a tool......

OMG....those are too funny!!!!!

Personally I have 1 tattoo, it's a tribal butterfly. I got it for me, it was a statement and a way to remember something that was changing for the good in my life, I love my tattoo and I've had it almost 10 years. :) (maybe 9, it's hard for me to remember exactly lol) I want 2 more for sure, then I'll be "done". Before having a tattoo done I speak with others who have tats that I like and see where they had theirs done, then I decide where to go from there. I normally "interview" the artist before having it done, look at other tats they've done, familiarize myself with them, ask questions....after all my ink will be with me forever so it's important it's done right. :) If I had a name misspelled (which I wouldn't because I don't do names at all) I think I'd have to sue that "artist"......
Tats are subjective, some people like them, some don't. For me, on my body, they need to be someplace I can cover them, the 1 I have is on my lower back, I also want one on my ankle and one on my side, I actually want the one on my side to loop up my shoulders and go towards my neck, but not up or on my neck....I'm still working on designs but I can't wait until I can actually get them.....:)

Tattoos of people are the worst! A former inlaw has a tattoo of her deceased father on her shoulder, the photo that the artist used to draw from was taken when the man was not well and it looks gross. I feel terrible that she lost her father but this tattoo is not appealing at all, it's actually pretty creepy. My cousin went years thinking that it was supposed to be a tattoo of Jesus :rolleyes1

I actually want a tattoo, but don't know where to start finding a reputable shop to get one!

We have multiple shops here, and I need to start asking people with tattoos where they got theirs.

I want to get a small tattoo - no bigger than a quarter (nickel size preferable) - of a red apple. For both my state (Washington) and Twilight.

I think I can live with a tattoo like that forever.

Location : Either my ankle or shoulder.
:)

Have you seen the FAILBLOG site on ugliest tattoos? Some are not DIS appropriate, but you can google it. I have to wonder what (or if) some people are thinking.

Dh and I are looking to get new ones and have been searching online.

I came across one and I will never look at pinocchio the same way again:lmao:
