Oh and I've actually gotten so used to tramp stamps now that I think those are sexy too.
You know, they weren't always called that......when I got my tattoo on my lower back almost 10 years ago now, they were not called "tramp stamp" tattoos....
I went onto that Failblog site. Some of those tattoos are

and some are

.
The person who writes the captions though had me rolling.
Honestly, if you aren't a good speller have someone proof your tattoo before it is permanently etched. Wouldn't you think the tattoo artist would do that or have a dictionary on hand?
The other thing I don't understand is people who don't speak an Asian language want tattoos in Japanese or Chinese calligraphy. How do they know that's really what is says?
I remember one time my father (who does speak, read, and write Chinese and we are not Asian) pointed at someone's tattoo in Chinese and said "I don't think that's what they wanted tattooed."
One of my best friends is 100% Japanese (born in SF but her parents are both emmigrants from Japan so her blood is pure lol), she speaks and writes fluently. I considered a tattoo with Japanese symbols to represent my 3 DD's, but we couldn't come up with a good design using the symbols they use for the words I wanted so I decided to skip it. But her tattoo is a butterfly with 3 Kanji's instead of a body, it suits her perfectly! That said, the ONLY wait I would get one that was in an Asian language was if she helped me with it, because I know I could trust her to do it the right way.
I have two tattoos, a Celtic knot on my ankle (my mom's side of the family is Irish) and a tramp stamp (hate that term) of a bouquet of daisies (personal recovery testimony, if you will). I justified them both because I can hide them if needed. I would love to get one with my daughter's (and possibly future kids') name, but I'm not sure where.
And I totally agree about the belly tattoo. Most people get guts as they get older. So the hot, 20-something bod that had the awesome tattoo may not look good after babies/gaining 20+ lbs. Plus I think it would really hurt!
I hate that term also, it didn't always have that negative connotation, I wish it would go away.

I go to a club pretty regularly (couple times a month on average I guess) and there's a girl there who's really pretty, has a great body and has 2 colored star tattoos on her stomach.....I know, everyone can see them with the tiny tank tops she wears. LOL Anyway, we always say that, "gee, can't wait to see those after she's had kids" LOL.....some people don't think it thru before they get inked, then they regret them later on.
I have a Pegasus tattoo on my right hip. No special meaning other than I love horses and always have, it's more of a line drawing/abstract. My left ring finger has the word "gra" (with accent mark, I'm on the iPad and can't do it) tattooed on it, as does my husband. Gra means love/respect in Irish.
My next tattoo is going to be around my wrist, my kids names, each separated by a mickey head. It will be thin enough to be covered by sleeves, bracelets or a watch when needed.
I have always disliked tattoos of "realistic" people/things. They never look right to me.
Love the 2 that I highlighted! I want one on my anklet, with the girls initials and flowers with Tink over it with pixie dust being sprinkled on their names.

I have 1 DGD so I was considering a double and putting her initals in that one with spaces for more grand kids...considering I have 3 girls I know I'll have more grandkids.
The worst one I have ever seen was on the back of a guys neck, it was the swear word beginning with 'F' Off.
It was just horrible, at the time I saw him he was sat on the beach with his family and I thought what kind of role model is that?
My Mom worked for a courthouse, she would "clear" the convincts as they passed thru to the courtrooms...one inmate was a particularly nasty guy who had his EYELIDS tattooed...yes, eyelids....talk about skeevy, but what was worse was what he had on them.....the right eyelid said F***, the left said you......that way he could "blink at the judge and tell them off without saying a word"......ya, skeevy!!!!
I also knew a guy years ago who had "Tool" tattooed on his arm....his forearm.....he said "I like the band a lot" but in reality my BFF and I thought it just really fit his personality. lol He was a bit of a tool......
Tattoos with grammar/spelling mistakes make me go into hysterics every time (but I do feel bad for those inked permanently with those mistakes!)
OMG....those are too funny!!!!!
Personally I have 1 tattoo, it's a tribal butterfly. I got it for me, it was a statement and a way to remember something that was changing for the good in my life, I love my tattoo and I've had it almost 10 years.

(maybe 9, it's hard for me to remember exactly lol) I want 2 more for sure, then I'll be "done". Before having a tattoo done I speak with others who have tats that I like and see where they had theirs done, then I decide where to go from there. I normally "interview" the artist before having it done, look at other tats they've done, familiarize myself with them, ask questions....after all my ink will be with me forever so it's important it's done right.

If I had a name misspelled (which I wouldn't because I don't do names at all) I think I'd have to sue that "artist"......
Tats are subjective, some people like them, some don't. For me, on my body, they need to be someplace I can cover them, the 1 I have is on my lower back, I also want one on my ankle and one on my side, I actually want the one on my side to loop up my shoulders and go towards my neck, but not up or on my neck....I'm still working on designs but I can't wait until I can actually get them.....
