I am meeting a friend for lunch in Lakeland on 9/16. Neither one of us know where to eat but it is 1/2 point to meet. I would be interested in something unique - not a chain type restaurant - it doesn't have to be fancy or expensive. I like to dine outside but it might be too hot. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm coming from Orlando - yep, taking time our from visiting Mickey. Friend is coming from Clearwater. Does that help? Thanks!

Another vote for Harry's! Downtown Lakeland has several non-chain choices-most are pretty casual, and some of them have outdoor dining.

I was going to suggest Harry's as well. It's technically a chain since there are 8 throughout Florida, but it doesn't feel like a chain at all.

And we just LOVE downtown Lakeland. We walk there all the time and love it all!

If you want to stay close to the interstate, you could do Zohra's Restaurant and Tea Room. It's very sweet and the food is YUMMY!

ETA: I guess I can't post links. So just search for :

Hooked On Harrys Lakeland Florida
and
Zohras Restaurant Lakeland Florida

Texas Cattle Company. Harry's is good, but there are more of those out since it is a bigger chain, but I would definintely go to Texas Cattle Company.
