We've book ourselves at the Lake George RV Park and want to know if anyone has been there and if they liked it. Also, do you think we need a car? We have a Class C rv. Thanks!
I think you will hear good and bad. All in all it's a nice resort. Some of the sites can be VERY close..and they are renovating with a wierd substance on the sites..bring a large piece of astro turff...or whatever you use for outside. Less tracking in of it. Personally I like having a car..there is trolley service..but it's slow..and you will go either into Lake George or to the Outlets. Also, depending on season..it may only be running on weekends..which actually means Saturday. However, you can do without a car...depends on what it is you are looking to do. We personally would recommend to you Alpine Lake..located in Corinth..which is inbetween both Lake George and Saratoga. www.alpinelakervresort.com. It offers two lakes that you are able to fish and swim in. Also pool, tennis courts, basketball, playground..all the same amenities as LGRV. Just a bit of friendlier enviornment..at least we think so. They also offer Trolley service to both Lake George Village, and Saratoga. I would also recommend to you RV.NET...this is a great spot where you can go to the forums..and check out the campground and resort section..where you can do a search and find many reviews of various campgrounds. Very helpful. Good luck with your trip.
I would second Auntie's recommendation. I live in the area and we've stayed at both resorts (with our old Class-C). LG RV Park is very nice, but the sites are not very private and pretty close together. Alpine Lake is a bit more rustic, although still quite nice - just less amenities. It is in Corinth, which is not all that close to LG (probably a half-hour drive), as opposed to the LG RV park which is about 5 - 10 minutes away, and only a minute from the Outlets.

Drew-
Not sure if you were aware but Alpine was sold a few years ago..and then again last summer to the same corporation that owns Lake George Escape...over past Bolton. There have been some major changes in the last few years. We actually saw Alpine about 7 years ago..and then last year we signed up for a seasonal spot.( were on a wait list).since we visited it the summer before and were very impressed by the new lakeside dining and wood playground and added paved roads that were added. Now it seems it is owned by the Equity Lifestyle Properties..publicly traded corporation. (This was last summer.) They own resorts throughout the country. In fact the other big one in Florida..other than the Fort of course...Tropical Palms.
My family is big into fishing..and they do plenty of it right on the two lakes..Alpine and Woodland. Also the river's nearby offer my older son a good chance to use his kayak. Really a lovely area.
We go to LGRV park at least once each summer. This summer we have reservations for 1 full week and a long weekend over Labor Day.
It's a really nice park, very clean with lot's to do. It's also pricey. I'm sure there are others in the area. We like LGRV park because we don't pull a car behind the motorhome. You can get right on the county bike path from LGRV park. Our daughter loves the trolley and we sometimes just ride around the campground on the trolley.
