Is it worth going to Lake Compounce and not doing the water park? Kids are ages 17, 15, 13, 12 and 8? We wouldn't be able to get there till about 1-2PM.

Water Parks are included in the ticket price. So I would still do both. The water park side is open till 7:00 and the rest later. The park is fun, but you'll probably be done with the rides sooner than closing. So I would still go, do both and have fun.

The park is open later on weekends.

Do the dry rides first. Then the water park late in the afternoon. They crowds should start to diminish by then.

The water park is not that far from the rides like at Great Adventure and other parks with both types of amusementsso you will be albe to do both.
when we go we wear our suits with either a t-shirt or a sun dress to cover, and pack some dry clothes and towels. We put these into the locker by the water park as soon as we arrive.
We then do some water stuff since we are over by the water park, then go on a few rides then stop and eat something. Then we go back to the water park and maybe back to the rides again. When the park is closing we go and get our stuff out of the locker and change into dry clothes for the drive home. We don't bother drying off until we are ready to leave the park since you will dry enough to go onto rides and they don't stop you if your clothing is wet.

Well we did it and had lots of fun. Got there about 1pm and left about 7pm. Did the regular rides first, then the water park. Not too crowded. We would definately go again.
Thanks everyone!
