Hi everyone.

I have been looking at these 2 resorts as they are the more affordable out of all the ones I have looked at.

Could people please give their opinions on where to stay and why.

Is LBV newer? Do they have nicer furnishings even those CP is being renovated?

Thanks

We stayed at Cypress Pointe and enjoyed it. We were in a 2BR. They have a nice pool, putt-putt golf, a little convience store. Nothing fancy, but it was clean and well maintained, Loved how close it was to downtown disney.

Is there a daily resort fee? :)

No resort fee. There is a charge (small) for the mini golf and a very reasonable (IMO) charge for in-unit Internet WiFi of $4.95/day OR $19.95/week. GPGV has just converted from hard wired Internet service to WiFi in the past month. The old system was rather dated and required a hard wired modem that they didn't always have enough of to meet demand. With WiFi that problem at the Grande Villas should be solved. CPR has had WiFi since 2006. CPR is upgrading the service speed in the next month or two at no change in price.

Haven't stayed at LBV, so couldn't vote, but my family and extended family really like Cypress Pointe and the Cypress Pointe Grand Villas. We've stayed here in their three bedroom units on three different occasions. I might add too that the Unofficial Guide to Walt Diseny World in the last edition that I purchased rated this as one of the best values in the area for price/quality. If you will be staying for a full week, you might be able to save even more $s by renting from a timeshared owner using Redweek.com or TUG2.net (classified ads section) if this is something you might be inclined to do. They often, though, have very good retail prices too (Evidence of this too is the Unofficial Guide value rating).

Units are spacious and well maintained. Pools are a nice warm temperature, which has meant that our kids use the pools a lot, even on Christmas trips. They have tennis courts too -- just two, but they always seemed to be available. We have a tennis playing family, so that is an ammenity we look for. There are many resturants close by (some you can even walk to) and the location is very close to Downtown Disney. This is our first choice in the area when we are looking to get a three bedroom unit, as these are readily available here.

Stayed at LBV in 2008 while the newer area was under construction and had a WONDERFUL experience. Very clean, beautiful furnishings, GREAT onsite pub/resturant and THREE minutes from Disney. This year we are rrenting in the new area with new pirate pool. Can't wait. Never have stayed at CP, but can't recommend LBV enough. Kids loved it too!!!

Does anyone know if there is still construction at LBV?

Thanks

Celebrity Resorts, the operator of LBV Resort, is in serious financial difficulties and an internal fight over control. While that doesn't directly impact guests as much as owners it still may mean things aren't getting the proper attention at the resort. It appears to be the case as TUG ratings give LBV only a 6 (quite low for TUG) while CPR is 9 - CPGV a high 8.

Both have a great location but overall I'd give the distinct edge to CPR or CPGV.

We stayed at LBV resort at Christmas and had a wonderful time. If shopping is part of your trip they have a great Outlet Mall right next door and you can even check in for your flight there (next to Old Navy). i would highly recommend it.

Is there a resort fee at LBV and do you have to pay for parking at CP and LBV?

Thanks!

No parking fees at LBV, and I don't beleive I was charged a resort fee either. We were there a few months ago and there wasn't any construction going on...not in the immediate area anyways. The pirate themed water park is awesome...there is a slide that is tons of fun for the whole family.
