Has anyone seen it and if so did you enjoy it? I'm really torn on this one. I've seen several previews and while one of 'em makes me want to see the movie, the other preview makes me want to avoid it. LOL

Which one is it? See or avoid? I think it's tonites movie if I can make up my mind if I want to see it or not. :p

I watched it on the Disney Cruise in May. I missed the first 20 minutes. It's funny but not a typical Tom Hanks movie. It's hard to describe, it's funny but in a goofy sort of way if that makes sense.

Well we did watch it. I'm torn.......Tom Hanks REALLY creeped me out but maybe he was supposed to. LOL

It was very funny but I was probably expecting more charm (dunno if that's the word I'm looking for though) from a Coen brothers movie. What a twist the ending was, eh? Yikes!!!

Tom Hanks did an excellent performance, but it was not his "typical" role. The movie is a dark comedy. It was good, but it wasn't what I had expected. I'd buy the dvd though even after watching it in the theater.

We saw it and loved it! It's a dark comedy (which we love anyway) so we'll be heading out possibly tonight and buying it!

"We must have waffles, forthwith!"

I saw it because I like Tom Hanks, and while I think he gave a good performance, I can't say whether I liked it or not. Parts of it were very funny, while others were rather... well.. boring! It's definately one I won't be owning.

Oh you guys are right........when you said "dark comedy" it made more sense to me. I was expecting light hearted sugar sweetnes and since this wasn't, I think I just felt surprised. LOL

I've thought about the movie and hubby and I have talked about it several times already, which usually means we both liked it well enough to watch it again. :)

We went to the movie theater and watched it. My sister was watching my kids, and there was a tornado warning, so we left to go be with our kids. The warning wasn't in our exact location, just somewhere in the vacinity.

I think we will probably rent it so we can see the ending because it bugs us that we don't know how it ended, but with that said, I wasn't very impressed. To me Tom Hanks means class. And while I'm not exactly bothered by language, it was kind of a turn-off in this movie. Some of those people only had about two words to memorize and one of them began with F. It just wasn't what I expected from Tom Hanks. Great acting on his part, though.

Madi, DO see the ending if you can. It truly made the movie.......and to be honest, I struggled a bit with the language part too. Wasn't all too fond of that part and thought they could have toned it down a bit.

Still, the more thought I put into the movie, the more I think I liked it. LOL Weird, I know. :p

My wife and I have just returned from the cinema where Ladykillers was being shown at the Senior Screen (over 50s) this morning.

We thought the film was trite and boring with very few laughs.

What we found really offensive was the foul language. At times there was almost a non stop repetition of the f word, mainly from the young black thief who was incomprehensible otherwise.

The cinema was packed (Senior Screen is less than half price with free beverages and biscuits (cookies)) and we were some way from the asle. Otherwise we would have left part way through.

On a general note, why do so many modern films have so much use of obscene language? Is its usage a reflection of modern day America or is it just to raise the rating to attract a different audience?
