It was one of my favorite movies, I just got back from it. People's misconception with M. Night Shyamalan's movies is that they are supposed to be scary. While part of this is true, (there are aspects of it that will make you jump) people go into the theatre expecting to be scared out of their wits. And when the movie ends, and people didn't get their fill of horror, all they do is complain and bash the movie. This whole movie was very involved and you had to be paying attention to understand it. It's almost like a twisted modern-day fairytale. Lady In The Water seems like a commentary on the modern times of this world...and once again, you have to be interested in the storyline enough to notice all these metaphors.

So two-thumbs UP! Great movie.

I saw it and would prolly say it was the best-worst movie ever. There were only like 3 scary parts which my friends and i screamed then laughed our butts off cuz it was kinda cheesy. The ending was pretty lame. So yeah i didn't really like it. But i think all of u who want to see it should. I have mixed opinions about it.

I've seen hundreds and hundreds of horror movies, so I've probably got a jaded opinion, but it wasn't scary.

Oh I completely agree. I loved the whole commentary on the world at large right now. It is an in depth movie with a point, but sadly people just want to get scared.

I don't think M. Night took away from the movie for his acting, but added to it. I never really got a good idea of his acting from his little snippits in the past.

Did you see the mockumentary he made about the village? Hands down some of the best acting I've ever seen. People were believing him. He had to do a public apology because people were taking it so seriously. That was in 2003 or 2004. Right after the village came out. I just didn't view this movie up to par with his others.

Was the movie really that bad? My friends who went to see it told me not to that it was totally horrible.

I like the way Ryan discribed it. "a modern day fairytale" It wasn't that bad honestly. I was just disappointed because I've been waiting a few years for this movie and I had my hopes up for it to be on the same level as his other movies. It wasn't, in my opinion, but I think it I didn't go in there expecting so much I wouldn't have been disappointed.
