Lady Gaga........a superstar.......?

Christina Aguilera, Audra McDonald, Susan Boyle, Celine Dion, Annie Lennox, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, k.d.lang, Lady GaGa.
jeez..........i dont know Kevin...........sounds like saturday nite at the Birdcage to me.:rotfl2:

Please understand that this is just a silly discussion of singer's talents.

I meant absolutely nothing malicious by my statement.

I apologize if what I said offended you. I didnt mean to do that. Really.

But ...."nothing better out there" discounts Christina Aguilera, Audra McDonald, Susan Boyle, Celine Dion, Annie Lennox, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, k.d.lang, to name just a few, who in my estimation, can sing circles around Lady GaGa.

So...if it was just hyperbole...I get it. If it wasn't, then I'll just say that I disagree with what you've said.

O.K., I guess I'll give you Annie Lennox, Aretha Franklin, and Babs but thats it, LOL! ;)

Hmm...

She could come out with an aquarium strapped atop her head and it wouldn't surprise me...

She obviously has *something*. I admit I shelled out 99 cents for "Bad Romance", I think it's a unique song.

The comparisons to Madonna are unavoidable. Both rely on their ever changing images and outrageous outfits. The difference being that Lady Gaga can actually sing. :tilt:

Corey and Julie, Ferris is just absolutely adorable, especially in this video.

I couldn't help but wonder, throughout the song, when the phone would go flying!

I think she is take off of GRACE Jones music. Grace was in 007 Bond movie. Weird and forced onto the public. Do you really want to sing this song 20 years from now and with that there is only one part of the song I remember. Stage show is one part but singing is another. Not my cup of tea.

Understand my job in Nashville is to promote country acts. Music industry is very forced onto the public big labels have all the power. Small artist with a great song will not break the top 40 thats all major artist. Want to have a major artist play on a tv shows you must put on one of the labels baby acts also. Each artist is at least one million dollars just to see a door cracked you want the door open 5-10 million to start to get some exporsure.

And by the way Disney Dad...I saw Klaus Nomi live. That proves I'm old.

Wow, one of the few musicians that I loved that I never personally got to see. Must have been an amazing night, one that you probably didn't fully appreciate until years later. I can't believe he's been gone for 27 years.

come on kiddo...........click on my link and give it a look........ya might like it:)
I watched about 2 1/2 minutes and...it's a video. It's fine. I'm not much into videos these days.

I don't know if Lady Gaga is a superstar or not. I don't really care. I just like the songs. I don't love the Rah Rah song, but I do the rest, especially Poker Face.

I'm glad to see a trend in popular music toward the Peppy Girl type songs as they were always my favorite. Didn't much love the last 20 years of the Life Sucks songs.

Life sucks often enough without crappy music of woe. Go forth, Lady Gaga! Bring us some fun. :)

I know you will find this hard to believe...but I loved Banarama.

Robert DeNiro's Waiting....talking Italian.

Hmm...

I'd forgotten about that song.

What was Robert DeNiro waitng *for*, exactly ?

(Possibly for Sharon Stone to sober up ?) Oh dear, I've said too much... :rotfl2:

Gaga is Ferris' favorite, especially Bad Romance - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZpNa9jkwIg

Ferris is so cute! I'm sure music helps kids learn to verbalize and gain muscle control. On my last visit to my sister, I was astonished to hear my 4-year-old niece belt out "You're So Vain"! Her 6-year-old sister was singing Michael Buble. When I'm tired of watching Christmas videos in the car in summer, I suggest surfing the radio to find a new song to love. The last one we "discovered" was "Pump Up the Volume" by Colourbox. When the song came on, they both started wriggling around, dancing to the beat. I love to hear my nieces sing that, too!

Back on topic now - I love Lady Gaga! Hearing her sing and improvise live is an amazing experience, especially when you compare her to some of the other pop stars out there, who are clearly assisted during studio performances, based on their less-than-stellar live performances. "Poker Face" is one of my least favorite songs, but, having been hooked on "Just Dance," I was willing to give her another chance and she delivered with "Paparazzi" and "Bad Romance."
