What undies do you wear while running? I have the bras I like and the socks I just can't find the right runderwear. I was thinking of trying the UA undies but boy are they pricey. What do you wear? :confused3:blush:

I have two pairs of Patagonia bamboo briefs that I alternate and use only for running. Yes, they were spendy but running without a wedgie . . . priceless. ;)

I unfortunately don't know the name of it but there is some really good underwear sold at REI if you have one near you. Better at wicking away moisture than some of the other bras I've tried and never had a problem with my understand. When I get back to my apartment I'll see if I can find the name of the brand.

If I'm wearing running shorts with a liner--nothing. If I'm wearing tights, I have Under Armour hipsters. But apparently, from a quick look at their web site, they don't have those anymore. You'll never get me in a thong, and boy shorts are for 20-somethings with skinny legs, so that's out too! Can't believe those are now the only choices. I do like their products--I run in UA bras.

I've been wanting to get a good pair of runderwear... right now, I just wear my usual Hanky Pankies.

I wear running tights (under armour usually with 7 inch inseam) and shorts (guys basketball type because they have pockets and I gotta have a hankie) with no underwear under the tights. The tights take care of underwear and chub rub.

If I am wearing shorts with a liner - no underwear. The liner takes care of all the moisture-wicking. Same with tights. Otherwise I just wear whatever underwear I have on that day. But that is rare and only on short 3-4 mile runs.

I have to admit, I was very against the shorts with liners when I started running. But I quickly changed my tune after buying a pair! Best thing ever!

I wear the Exofficio brand when running. They are the same ones advertised to take on a long trip...wash out at night and wear the next day, because they dry so quickly! You can purchase these at REI or travel stores such as Magellan's or Travel Smith.

For those running with the tights and no underwear underneath, are there any seam rubbing issues?

Victoria Secret now has a sports line, VSX (may not be so new, but I just discovered the store in a local mall). I bought a sports bra and like it so far. I saw the underwear but didn't look at it, now I wish I did. They had some nice things in there, albeit pricey as well.

I've never had issues with my tights or my shorts. I tend to marathon in trou (rowing singlets) even though it means having to basically undress to use the bathroom. They're designed to have seams where they wouldn't cause seam rub issues.

This! :thumbsup2

I have some shorts with liners that I wear but I've always worn underwear under them. I know, defeats teh purpose of the liner. I'll have to give them a try without them next time.

I have a skirt from Skrit Sports that I finally wore yesterday that has the compression shorts underneath with a crotch breather in them. I thought about going witout undies but decided against it. I do have to say that was the most comfortable running outfit I've ever worn. I think I have found my Marathon bottoms. I'll try undie-less next time I wear them. Then I'll check out the VSX undies and others mentioned.

Thanks. :)

I wear shorts with liners. I've tried underwear, but even if they're made of a good technical fabric, there's just something not right to me. Liners extend to the top of the shorts so you don't have a second binding waistband (and possible chafing source). Also, liners have all their seams and edges on the side away from your skin (nice!). The few pairs of sports underwear I own still have seams sewn and edges inside that might cause problems if you're sensitive.

I also wear compression shorts and tights w/out underwear - never had a problem. CW-X products do have a little diamond piece of fabric that is just tacked down by the corners in the crotch. It can get a little annoying. Although I've never had chaffing problems with it, I think I'm going to carefully snip it out.

Same here. I fought the liner at first. I even wore "real" undies the first few times. But then I tried it, (I was so nervous the first time too) And I loved it. Now I only buy the shorts or pants if they have a liner. No worries about what to wear, it's already included!

For shorts weather, I wear compression shorts under my running shorts-no undies. For cold weather-tights, no undies. I cannot stand shifting, bunching or wedgies. It takes some getting used to, but worth it for me.

Just my 2 cents.:)
