Ladies - what's your park style?

I am a frequent DLR visitor and an occasional WDW visitor. Slightly off topic but when I was at WDW last year I noticed way fewer people wearing Disney stuff -- it seems like at DLand everyone has ears, shirts, etc. Could be local influence again, but I was a little surprised. I wore my sparkly ears with pride but there weren't many like me!

As far as my Disney wardrobe, it all starts with the shoes! And now that my kids are old enough to carry their own stuff, I use the waist pack so my hands are free for Dole whips and whatever else I can carry. I found one just the right size to hold money, a small sunscreen, phone, and a folded up poncho... I'm good to go!!

I pretty much live in jeans so my park wear is typically jean shorts, tank top or tee shirt and either flip flops or runners. Since I don't go anywhere without makeup, that's a given for me and my hair is wash and go with a hair elastic or two in my purse for when it gets hot.

I'm totally jealous of all you ladies with the wash and go hair! My hair has to either be straightened or curled. If left to dry on it's own it is a frizzy, unattractive, wavy (and not in a good way) mess. Even a pony doesn't look good if I don't make it nice first!

I dress a little differently now that we're there for entire days than I did when I was a local with an AP. I'm pretty casual in general, but I used to be a little more put together I think. We were only there for a few hours at a time back then, so I'd dress for one specific type of weather. I could also wear different kinds of shoes because I wasn't on my feet for 16 hours. I have very sensitive feet, so it's ALL about the shoes. Now that we do all day visits, I must wear running shoes or I'll be in pain all day. On our last visit in November, I thought - why not wear workout capris? Because who cares? So I did, and it was awesome. I was so comfortable.

Long story short - the few hour visits of AP days, I could wear whatever. The all day visits we now do - COMFORT over style.

I did wear a dress and tights once. It was after visiting Steakhouse 55 with DH in February. That's the only time I've ever been dressed up in the parks.

I do agree that WDW is way more casual. I think it's because everyone is just trying to survive the heat and humidity!

One other thing - I do NOT understand the women walking around in stillettos at Disneyland. Why? Just why?

We come in from -30 weather (20-25 is summer weather for us) so I pull out and pack all the cutsey summer clothing I do not get to wear a lot. Summer dresses are one of my go to's! I always have on a pair of ears or a tiara! I'am a flip flop lover (wear them until after the first snowfall so I live in those. I put on some light make up!

It definitely depends on the time of year, but typically nights get a little cooler here. For day time, it is usually capris, tank top/short sleeve or t-shirt and cute walking type shoes and a light jacket tied around my waist. Hair starts down, but pony tail when it gets wet or too wind blown. On really nice days, replace the capris with an Athleta Skort or shorts/ I like dry-wicking clothes and shoes so that I dry off quicker in water rides -- don't forget the dry-wicking underwear too. Minimal makeup because we get up early to get to park at rope drop so usually just water proof mascara, a powder or tinted moisturizer with sunscreen and lipstick. Need lipstick for pictures...

Oh, and we have one day where we all bring our ears and wear DL shirts to get pictures with Mickey and the Castle. It is our tradition. Did it in WDW too.

Mine is exactly the same way!

Typical for me is a cute casual type dress, vionic's and some type of light sweater. I Live for comfort and casually chic, lol.

Always have my special Mickey Pin on with a Disney bracelet as well.

If it's weather that's cool, vionics ( I live in them year round), longer shirt and Capri type stretchy pants.
Not huge into make up so.. drop of blush, eyeliner, lipstick and hair styled or in a butterfly type clip n out the door... easy peasy!

Our DLR style is dressy casual, so Disneybounding or Dapper with comfort and weather in mind. I have lots of dresses and skirts for park days (machine wash and dry only!). Shoes: Keen mary janes, oxfords and saddle shoes, flat boots, etc. DH has Keen oxfords and tennis shoes. For the Royal Swing Ball, things get a little dressier. Even though we love to be comfortable in the parks, wearing jeans for me is a rare enough event that it actually feels weird when I do it. Did it recently during a cold snap and it took me a bit to get used to being in jeans in the parks. LOL!

This is our 1st DL trip (we're frequent WDW visitors) but I'm a big disneybounder: I love dresses and matching ears.

Shorts/Capris/Jeans + t-shirt/tank/sweatshirt/hoodie and Sketchers Go Walks. Basically what I wear at home with a little Disney touch. I do wear make up which I don't normally do at home because photos. It's a once and done thing though, I don't touch up or redo. I don't wear jewelry because with the added sodium and the heat my hands swell and it's uncomfortable. I do coordinate the family for photo ops. DH doesn't even fight me, he just asks which tee he's supposed to wear today. :rotfl:

When we were on our girls trip in Jan. 2015 it was non stop rain. Everyone in the parks looked like a bunch of drowned rats but there was this one woman we kept coming across, heeled boots, very chic clothes, perfect hair and make up. It was like the rain just parted for her. We were like...how? All I could think is she stopped to touch up frequently. Ain't nobody got time for that in Disney!

She makes my point: if you still look good at the end of a day at Disney, you're doing it wrong.

Sneakers, Birkenstocks, or Olukai flip flops (but it's usually sneakers)
comfy tshirt or other top
usually bring a light sweatshirt w/me for evenings since we usually go in early summer
jeans or capri pants
wide brimmed hat since I'm fair skinned

I'd love to wear the headband-style Mickey ears, but then my scalp would burn to a crisp!

I dress for comfort - usually shorts or capris, a t-shirt or lightweight shirt, and either my sandals or runners with socks (I alternate daily). I wear my Maleficent hoodie first thing and later in the evening to keep warm. My hair is just done as usual, but I bring an elastic in case I need to tie it back, and I only wear mascara and darken my brows for 'makeup'. When we were there a couple years ago, we celebrated our anniversary, so I wore a nice top and long skirt, but nothing too 'dressy'.

I always wear my Mickey earrings though - every day I get to carry a bit of magic around.

I try to go for trendy comfort. I wear comfy sneakers and skinny jeans and tanks and a cardigan for when it gets cooler. I don't wear typical running shoes except my Nike Rosche but they're all black so they don't have that running shoe look. I also have some high top sneakers that look more like Jordans. I always wear a full face of makeup, winged eyeliner, a dark or red liquid lipstick, mascara, maybe some contour. Also you have much better hair days at DL rather than WDW because there's little to no humidity. I feel like its harder to look "Cute" at WDW because the heat seems so much worse, the humidity and it seems larger so there's more walking so you try to focus on comfort.

I dress like I normally would on a weekend... lots of dresses w/ cute sandals and accessories, sweater when needed. Hair down (pull it back temporarily on RSR). I'm plenty comfortable...I don't really understand the need to wear sports attire at the parks.

Are you a local?

I wouldn't make it an hour in "cute sandals."

Yeah, that's always the challenge.... I am always on the lookout for cute shoes that are actually comfortable (not just for DL, but for chasing my kids around). They are out there, but you really have to look!
