Ladies-What should I wear?

My 10 year high school reunion is in a couple of weeks. (I swear I haven't been out of school that long-it's impossible!) I'm only going to the part that's on Friday night, which is eating barbecue outside followed by attending the high school football game. I'm definitely planning on jeans, but does anybody have any suggestions for shirts? It will probably be fairly hot, but I may need to throw on a jacket before we leave. I have an infant, so I'm battling my mid-section a little still. I suppose my main concern is the fabric due to the temps, the drool :rotfl2:, and the casual nature of the event, combined with my concern about my tummy. It doesn't help that I was probably a size 0 when I graduated and was known for being quite thin-it makes me a little too self-conscious because these people know me as being small.

Any advice? Links would be great!

How old is your baby? Wear it in a sling in front and it'll hide your belly. Not practical? Cotton tee shirt, preferably one that accentuates your ahem breastfeeding assets to distract from the tummy.

I like that idea. I'll bet a good deal of the other women have gained too.

How about a cute tank top with a banded bottom? That banded bottom hides any tummy/love handles but still looks cute. I don't know how to post links but maybe someone else can? My best friend bought a really pretty green satin type tank style top in the juniors section of Kohl's. She wore it with jeans and heels and looked great!

I'll look for pictures after I post this, but what about a tank top that falls a little looser under your breasts? I'd accentuate your chest, too...helps draw eyes away from the tummy.

Not exactly what I meant, but this would work and be cute: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=470756&CategoryID=38337

And: Not sure if this is your taste, but something like this would work, too: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=476111&CategoryID=49277 And I've seen plenty without the ruffles, just can't find them now.

I'd go with a black v-neck T and cute earrings and/or necklace. Keep it simple and keep it dark. Good luck. If all else fails, go with the babysling!;)

What about capri's vs jeans? I like the idea of a black top too. BBQ's are so messy. If you are going to the high school football game, what about school colors-wear a top that is one of those? Are you sure you want to bring an infant to a high school football game though?

I was going to say a light weight calico (cotton) print button down top -- because it will hide the drool and dry quickly... but black is a good choice as well... Or if you have anything with an empire waist or ruching on the sides, those will hide your tummy (I'm there with you on that one...ugh)

Have fun! I enjoyed my 10 year (OMG 6 years ago!) a lot. The cliques had sort of broken down and it was neat to see everyone... It didn't hurt that later a friend told me she had overheard one of the "popular" guys say that I was smokin'.:rotfl:

BTW-- how is the baby?

1) get some Spanx for your tummy concerns
2) find a cute top or tank - sometimes the understated comes out looking the best!

I would second the tank or a nicer T-shirt idea. I would also wear a chunky or eyecatching necklace or scarf as well. That would draw attention away from your tummy area.

I would second the Spanx suggestion.

But I would not wear an empire waist. Too much like maternity clothes and they can make thin women look pregnant. IMHO.

I went to my 10 year reunion the begininning of August...I agree, it doesn't seem like 10 years!! Ours was casual too. I wore jeans with one of those casual corset tops (they can be slimming!) and heels. The top was kinda like this

The one you have on in your signature?

Wear what you feel comfortable in. Take pics of the baby with you to show off. Don't worry about what they think. Be confident and proud of your little one and the wonderful life you have.

Don't wear anything that is tight against the tummy. I find shirts made of forgiving fabric at Kohls.

Good luck and have fun!

That first link is exactly what I meant. Wear something like that with a nice fitted pair of jeans and some cool heels and you'll be smoking hot:banana:

I like the tank! I actually considered buying that blouse for work (just ordered a few things from Macy's). I have this shirt: http://www.express.com/sexy-basic-c...&user_att_value=Email&Mrsaa=*&Mrsavf=*#jsLink in the raspberry, which is pinker than it looks. Possibility? I probably won't wear DS because I want to be able to get around people and hug, etc. DH will probably hang onto him. He'll be 4 months and the weather will be fine, so I am planning to take him at this point.

Any other ideas? I may have to head to Macy's!
