My mom and DL were both "born" in 1955, so of course we're taking mom to DL to celebrate her 60th! But no kids and no husbands allowed :) Just mom and us 5 daughters. My family just attended MHP on Oct 9th. It was amazing! But I need some suggestions on planning our ladies only trip in January. I'm used to planning trips geared towards kids. What are some special things we can do with mom? Things adult ladies would especially enjoy?

I would ask your sisters and your mom, what one or two things they would like to do, ride, see, etc and plan your stay according to that. Make sure you get photo pass plus and get pictures taken everywhere you can! You will appreciate those photos years from now. Do all the things that will close Jan 10 (if you are going before that date).

Make TS ressies for at least once a day so you can sit, laugh, and relax while eating great food. (This is great because you are being waited on and you don't have to clear or wash the dishes!!)

Do wine tasting/flights in DCA at the place next to Wine Country Trattoria. So fun! I prefer the port and chocolate tasting, but sadly that is gone. They may still have the port and cheese tasting but if not, they have other fun things.

Trader Sam's!! Get there near opening time (11:30, I think?), grab a table and have a blast! All drinks and appetizers I've had have been fabulous.

Napa Rose lounge! Have a wonderful dessert and coffee or a hot drink next to the fireplace. I LOVE the homemade hot chocolate, which is sooooo much more than it sounds. It's made from a melted premium chocolate bar and comes with 3 little bakery items made up fresh while you wait. Out of this world and only available in winter :) If you want to spend the money, Napa Rose chef's counter is fantastic, too.

Maybe do a tour! Those can be a lot of fun. I've never done it, but you can hire a plaid to take you around for X number of hours. Lots of perks go along with it but again, it's very pricey.

Have a wonderful trip! Sorry my post is mainly about eating and drinking, LOL.

Dizme, I am going to be there this weekend for my birthday and we (my brother and I) are staying at the GCH. I am going to try to hot chocolate at the NR--thanks for the great suggestion!

My sister and I are going sans families for a Girl's Trip Nov 3-7. The theme of the trip is to do things we've never done before. Some things we have on our list are visit Tom Sawyer's Island, the sailing ship Columbia, try to ride the Lily Belle, Mr Toad's Wild Ride (can you believe it?!?), Aladdin the musical, Radiator Springs Racers (she's actually never even seen Carsland!), see the neon come on in Radiator Springs, Trader Sam's and eating at Blue Bayou with a Fantasmic dinner package! My sister has never ridden Space Mountain, unfortunately closed while we're there, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the Matterhorn, had a Dole Whip or a Mickey Ice Cream Bar. I'm debating surprising her with a Hidden Mickey contest. Maybe a theme or something similar would be fun for you and all the girls. Have fun!

Oooooo!!! That sounds fun!!! My sister and I will be going in December and that's high on our list :) Here's a picture of what it looks like. The treats vary, but usually include a beignet (ours was filled with eggnog cream) and things like raspberry croissants, tiny doughnuts, etc.

GREAT ideas!!! Sounds like a really fun time :) I am lucky to get to go to DLR 3-4 times a year with my girlfriends and/or sister so I've gotten good at girlfriend trips! Two of those are Dapper Day visits so we always do some kind of theme, too. This last time we went tiki and dressed the part. It was a lot of fun (and went well with a trip to Trader Sam's).

I rode Mr. Toad's Wild Ride for the first time in my memory about 5 years ago. I'd read that you go to hell and that was an intriguing idea so I had to check it out. It's true! It's a good thing to go on when you're cold

Wonderful ideas! I would like us to do a tour. We'll be in the parks Jan 6-8. We've been to DL several times, but I'm trying to decide which tour to do. Anyone have a preference? VIP is not in our budget this time.
