ladies only thread - need advice

I am carrying some ex-baby weight around my abdomen. I have to go to a wedding and just bought a new dress.....you know the situation. Can someone please give me some advice on buying some kind of an undergarment to flatten that area. I don't think you call them girdles anymore.......

I have access to a kohls and a jc penneys and target and walmart. Can anyone please help and be brand specific. Thank you so much.

You are looking for Spanx or something like it. You can find them just about anywhere. They cover the same amount as a old girdle. If you want a smoother look you may want to try one that has a bra and controls the tummy. The spanx may leave that line at your waist. If you are looking for hip control the spanx are the way to go.

Target carries Spanx, you can find them in the lingerie section. Hanes also makes some compression type panties. Kohls also carries the Flexees brand - I'm using them now for post tummy-tuck swelling.

Target carries Spanx? Oh, I need to take a trip to Target. I know that Lane Bryant carries them, but I didn't know that Target did. I haven't tried them yet, but I've heard so many people rave about Spanx that I wanted to try for myself.

Thank you all. I just feel so out of the "loop" on dress clothes. My job only requires blue jeans etc and no dress clothes. I'm really trying to look nice for this event and after searching, I finally found a dress I liked and that fit! yeah!
I'm not obese or anything like that it's just this one spot........
