Ladies -- how much makeup do you own?

I'm not talking about how much you wear, but how much you own. I was clearing out a section of my closet in the bathroom and I found some lipsticks. I decided to add them to this big makeup case I have.

It's then that I realized that I own tons of makeup. I tossed some stuff that was ancient, but I have stuff that I have never even used.

What about you?

But I did some cleaning a couple of months ago to get rid of some old stuff. Biggest problem is going to get something you need, and coming home with lots more.

oh good lord more than I want to admit..LOL! The after Christmas Sales at McRaes and Pennys and Wal-Mart with all the make-up cases for little or nothing! Way way too much...do you need some more...lol!

Not too much. I used to, but I finally got sick of all the clutter and got rid of everything I don't wear. I get a lot of free samples from Estee Lauder, but I've started getting good about throwing them out.

Well, I purged it all a couple of months ago, so I don't have very much. I don't wear very much either, but it's amazing how quickly it multiplies.

Right now I have foundation, powder, 2 eyeliners, 2 lip liners, 1 mascara, and 3 or 4 lipsticks. Prior to the purging I had about 10x that much.

Don't make me tell.. suffice it to say that I have a room in my house dedicated to just this.. with a sit down Art Deco vanity... need I say anymore.. just one of my many addictions..

I just recently cleaned out under my bathroom sink, where I store all of my "stuff."

And let's just say I threw away some things I hadn't laid eyes on in over 5 years! Some of the stuff I had since we lived in Maine (and that was a very long time ago!)

Now I only own what I'll use.

I think I have an average amount (one fairly big makeup bag full), but DH thinks I have way too much. *sigh*---I don't think I'll ever get him to understand that I can't wear purple eyeshadow and a purply lipstick if I'm wearing a crimson shirt!

I didn't really own any make-up until I started doing shows. I now have a handful of lip sticks, eyeliner, and eyeshadow. I also have a set of theatrical make-up. I don't wear much in day to day life.

I should get rid of some since I understand it also has a shelf life!

No, I don't really mean it, I can't imagine sending my silver eyeshadow/liner to some poor unsuispecting soul.

Not too much. I don't wear much make-up. I usually only wear eyeliner, mascara, lipliner/lipstick, and power. Sometimes I'll wear base, for special occasions...I hate the way it feels. I do own a little set of eye shadow and blush...rarely wear it. I do admit I have a lot of stuff I don't use...most of it is little samples from Clinique's free gifts!

Ugh...I have more than I will use. The funny thing is I have a makeup bag of the day-to-days that I wear constantly. When I run out of thse I am very good about restocking in "my colors." But I have a whole shelf filled with stuff I never use. Tons of lipstick and gloss and eye shadow. I don't know why I don't get rid of it. I suppose I wonder if one day I will actually need "coral/nude/hotpink/bloodred/deeppurple/black/...." lipstick to go with something?
