Ladies & gentlemen help me in congratulating Mean Laureen she done did good

In keeping with Scoops tradition of its better to give than to receive, and since we are pin ambassadors of a sort I to would like to make people smile one person in particular.

I just got off IM’ing with mean Laureen, and she has had a heck of day, and yes God loves you. but more important than that I love you, and we love you, so I asked Scoop and he said it was fine by him, and he thought it was a great idea..

I would like to award my Scoop pin to Mean Laureen (not that mean) as my way of continuing the tradition, please don’t even think of saying no…. It’s a done deal and it’s on its way to you anyway. To refuse me this honor would start a Cuban holy war of unheard of proportions.

I know with all you do for pin your more than deserve it, hey, just putting up with Ed on these boards is more than enough.
Now the trick is getting that pin. Ed forgot to mention that you have to come to FL and put up with him for a few days. You so richly deserve this honor and I am very proud of you. You do more to make people feel special than anyone I know and to be honored such as this should show you how much your friends love and appreciate you.

I do have to agree with Peggie though, it is only fair that you should have to go to Walt Disney World to collect it. No one needs a break more than you and a few days of magic might just be what the doctor ordered. Don't worry about stuff around here, the snow will still be here when you get back and Matthew can fend for himself for a few days. Might do him good.

Lauri#5..got just what she deserved...I happen to know that she was quite taken back...

I guess she was told that Ed was misbehaving on the boards, and was ready to step in (as she often has to w/ Ed) edit button in hand, jumped on the read the post, and it wasn't quite what she thought it would be..

Believe me Laurie, this pin is not given away lightly, it has meant a lot to Eddie, but he just felt that this would be the right home for his pin..he knew that you would treasure it, and that it would mean the same to you that it has to all of us that have received this pin....at least those of us who "get what it stands for"..

So take it w/ a lot of love, (I'm sure it has nothing to do w/ his quest for the edit button ) and ENJOY!!!!!!

I was absolutely speechless last night when I saw this post. I was wondering what was going on when Ed asks me if it is beyond DIS guidelines to post pictures of people's butts. When he told me to come back and check out the boards 10 minutes later, you can just imagine what I thought I might see. Ed, you made me cry! But it was a good cry. And yes, like you said on the phone.. I smiled. And here I called you a wuss for not giving Scoop a kiss for me.

Ed, I don't think in all my life I have ever met, or will ever meet, anyone as thoughtful as you and Donna. People think I'm crazy because my best and closest friends are spread out between Florida, Arizona and Texas (yes I'm talking about you on the "Pin Head Board" Sonja! - everyone give a big HI to SonjaH - moderator of the TPAS board.. she's a pinophobic - we must convert her! ) People say I'm crazy because I met my friends on the internet (wait till they find out I met my husband on the internet! ) but I know I'm not crazy.. I'm the luckiest person around. Can you guys even imagine what our lives would be like if the DIS never existed?

Ed, I would more than LOVE to be able to come down and get that pin in person. Sadly it's just not in the cards for me right now. Unless they can come up with some miracle cure for me tomorrow it will be a while before I can attempt a vacation like that. That doesn't mean that you and Donna can't come to Virginia you know. And while you are at it, swing by Phoenix and pick up the Jazzy one - he needs to see some snow.

For the short amount of time that I've been reading and posting to the Collectors Board, one thing I noticed right away is the great "family" you guys have created with one another, and what great friends you are to each other. I think it's wonderful that you all have each other, since good friends are so hard to come by these days. It makes me smile as I read your posts, and always brightens my day. Although I sometimes feel like I'm eavesdropping on your conversations to each other, they always remind me of how thankful I should be for my great friends and family in my life.

The Disney "magic" is a true part of your hearts and souls. I can see it radiating through the posts, I'm sure in person you all must shine like stars. I hope everyone can find people in their lives that are as great as you are to each other.

I agree with you, the members of this board are family. I was just thinking that last night when I read a few of the other boards, DVC, Budget, and Rumors.
I think this board is the only one where we can put a face to the people who write posts.
We can walk around the parks and see someone from the boards and know who they are, who their significant other is, what they collect, and even what their favorite food at WDW is.
We smile when good things happen to our friends, and we cry along with them when something bad happens.
We cheer on their children when they achieve, and we encourage when they are down.
We love to hear from the crazies who make our day by making us laugh.
Hey, this group is nothing like my family, I like these guys!

Yes, yes, yes~~~ Many Happy Returns of the Day Laurie!!!

I know you are going thru a rough spot with your Baby "Toby" right now as well as the storms of your illness. I am so happy that Ed was able to share and add some sunshine to your life!! How absolutely fantastic!!!

And I absolutely agree with what has been posted inregards to us being family. How true, how VERY true!! I never could have imagined two years ago how enriched my life would be because of this "hobby" in little "pieces of metal". It's just the most fantastic thing.

I am very blessed to have friends on this board who have laughed, cried, and been the supportive family they have been. My favorite card I got when Daddy died, was from my pin friends on this board. Because of his passing, I wasn't able to go to Spectacle event. But they all got together and sent me a card and it was just the best thing they could have done for me. I'll never forget it and treasure it always.Oh yeah!! And we trade pins too!!! How 'bout that?!!!

And yes, there is "Scoop" who seems to keep it all together and in perspective. And keeps reminding us what this is all about ...
PEOPLE!!! A face that has a name. I consider myself a "surrogate SCOOPIE" and I'm proud to be thus!
