Ladies and Gentelman.... Ratatouille!

Not going to look, not going to look!!! Got our Dream pass and shareholder slots allocated for next week and so excited! :jumping1:

I'm going to try and avoid looking at anything until I go, although can't make the shareholders day as I'm working. I did well when it was ToT

I watched it and I'm now :yay::hyper: sooooooooo excited!!!!!

:thanks:

It looks wonderful! So excited to ride it :goodvibes

Looks VERY underwhelming. I didn't watch it all, as I'm hoping to catch a soft opening in 2 weeks, but it looks VERY tame, and no motion at all for the vehicles, just a slow ride from one screen to another. No moving points of convergence, obviously, Because there are multiple cars watching the same screen. A VERY expensive kids ride. This is definitely no Mystic Manor or Hunny Hunt.

At least I won't be too upset if we do miss it.

I was thinking the same as I watched it. We and I have to wait until we really ride it but on this video it looks a little bit disapointed to me.

Perhaps we all expected too much ?

:scratchin

It's perfect as far as I'm concerned, we can get our son on this in his wheelchair and with it being tame is perfect for him due to his lack of muscle tone, in my opinion the more rides like this the better, there are a very small amount of rides my son can do so this is very good.

If people crave being flung about then ride Space Mountain etc.

I agree! I was expecting more from this ride than moving from one screen to another.

I do understand (and agree) with what you're saying to some extent. I was a little surprised and slightly disappointed when I noticed the ride is mainly moving along 3D screens, however that is very much the future of rides. Spiderman and Harry Potter both are rides that heavily rely on 3D screens and they are regarded as two of the best and most innovative rides around at the moment. Plus I think it's really difficult to make a solid judgement just from a pov youtube video as 3D screens always look somewhat bad on youtube videos. You do move around some physical sets in the rides, I just hope these are balanced fairly well with the 3D screens cause I do agree it does look like the ride is comprised of mainly screens. I think the ride will be enjoyable but we all will be able to make a proper judgement when we ride it physically.

I'm just super excited to have a new ride and lovely area in Paris! It feels like ages since we've had a new one!

The HUGE differences between this and Spidey and Harry are that the vehicles tilt and move, whereas Ratatouille simply turns and maybe spins. But no real movement. Plus, there are no animated surroundings. At least that I saw in my limited viewing,

This ride is everything the Disnoids say Universal is, when they disparage Universal. It really does look like you are basically riding a basic vehicle from one screen to another, with the standard environmental effects, and zero moving scenery. Even the screens look like they only minimally blend in with the practical effects.

It just seems that Disney is now spending $100 million on really fancy kiddie rides. If I had a 6 year old, they would love this. But like a bad animated movie, it's great for kids, and just sorta there for the adults with them.

I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like they aimed pretty low. The bloggers are saying kind words, because they are being watched by Disney. I'll be interested to hear what a normal person NOT being lavishly treated is going to say.

Better version:

I think it looks like a great addition to DLP - a fun ride that everyone can enjoy. As well as the fact that it's not just a new ride, but a whole beautifully themed mini-land that has been created, is such a positive thing for the Studios.

I have read that the ratmobiles on the ride do tilt and move a lot more than can be shown on the video, and if the projections are as clear as they seem, I'm sure that the ride will feel very immersive.

Can't wait to try it. :goodvibes

You can clearly see in the video that the cars are not tilting in any way, shape, or form. The screens don't move at all in the video frame. Maybe they haven't started that functionality yet, but I doubt it.

Exactly what I thought, I'm looking forward to the whole new beautifully themed area and it is a very long time since there has been a major new gentle ride - the thrill seekers have had ToT and Crush added - now something more inclusive. :thumbsup2

Another one:

Hey, I may be wrong! But I thought that the person who posted the first video (which has now been removed, so can't check) said in the comments that the cars tilted. But even if it isn't a major part of it, I wouldn't be surprised if they is quite a bit more movement in the ratamobiles than can possibly be picked up on in a video.

Whatever the case, I think that the overall attraction looks great, and I look forward to riding it with the rest of my family - including our non thrill seeking daughter!
