I'm not sure where to ask this so I'll ask it here and in the parks forum.

If you buy your tickets from UCT instead of Disney as a package deal and you are staying in the campground how do you access Extra Magic Hours?

This just dawned on me that usually we show our key card to our room but you don't get a key card with a campsite right?

Thanks for any insight. :thumbsup2

You will get a resort issued KTTW card just like at any other resort property.

yup - the cards do everything a normal room key would do - except open a room door. :) They access the comfort stations, can be used at the parks to charge, have your park tickets on them (if you reserved your site and bought tickets at the same time - we've bought them separately and then they weren't on the key card), use to get on the buses or boats (we've been asked to show them once or twice if I'm remembering correctly.)

I will note for everyone that if you have a package deal with tickets and have someone flying in that is not under your package, you cannot get them the magical express service. Since I usually have friends flying in the time I am there (I head to the beach for a week before usually), but I am driving down with the RV ahead of time I order my tickets seperate and pick them up will call. As long as the system isnt down, they can apply it to my KTTW card without issue.

Just like if you have tickets at will call, you take them your ticket card and your KTTW card and they combine it at the conciers desk. Now the changes from KTTW to magic bands may change that to something simpler, but given how databases work it might take some time before its easy to combine room, charging and tickets bought outside of a package onto the same item without a visit to the concier.

When was this? Maybe a long time ago. I was once asked but that was back in '77 and was to ride the resort monorail.

you will need that card to get into comfort stations after 11 or midnight and before 6 or 7. i forget the exact times. so you would have for EMH

I think it was on our first trip in 2008... It was at night when the buses were packed and they were asking to show them your key as you got on. It's the only time we've been asked. I seem to remember someone saying they *can* ask you as you get on the boat, but haven't ever had them ask.

We bought our tickets separately when we went in 2010 and they wouldn't let us add them to the KTTW cards (we asked at the front desk concierge and at the parks and were told they couldn't do it). We had to drive all the way back to the campground from MK the one day (we usually take the boats, but that day we drove because we were picking up people on the way) because we brought our KTTW tickets, but forgot to grab the park tickets. *doh* It would have been a lot easier if they had added them together for us.

REally??? That would be great. It would be nice to only have to carry one set of tickets/cards. How do you go about doing that? TIA! :thumbsup2

We have done it at the front desk when we checked in. We did have a situation a few years ago where the tickets were canceled but not added to the cards properly. It cost us an hour at Animal Kingdom when we tried to use our cards.
