Lack of CS Restaurants at AK?

Hi all. I've been reading up about restaurants in connection with an upcoming trip. I noticed on allearsnet that Tusker House is being converted to a buffet this fall. When I looked at the list it only left 3 counter service restaurants left at AK? (Pizzafari, Restaurantosaurus, and FlametreeBBQ). I haven't been to AK in years but I remember it being pretty big, and looking at the menus at those three places, they seemed to leave a lot to be desired.

Am I crazy or will AK be really short on CS restaurants when Tusker House closes?

There is going to be a new TS/CS combo opening in AK. Here is a quote from allears.net :thumbsup2

The new restaurant currently under construction in Animal Kingdom's Asia will be named Yak and Yeti. To fit in with Anandapur, the fictional village that is home to Expedition Everest, the restaurant will be themed as a rural village in the Himalayan foothills. The pan-Asian establishment will house both a table service restaurant that seats 300 and a quick-service eatery that can hold 200 customers. The restaurant was announced in February 2006, and is set to open October 8th.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at allearsnet's At-A-Glance section which indicated that Yak and Yeti would only be table service. I'm sure they'll fill it in when it opens.

I totally 100% agree with you on this one. I have been able to figure out though that I LOVE Flame Tree Barbeque!! The only problem is that it is located somewhat close to the entrance of Ak so by the time we are getting hungry we are usually already back by the Safari so we end up having to back-track just to get there, but that being said it is worth it. We did have a problem once we got the food, we had to walk around a bit to find an empty table but when we finally did get one we had a great seat with an awesome view of little birds in the water and the great Mt. Everest. I will tell you though, I was there June1-6 this year and they had a lot of carts or maybe trailers I guess, one had hot dogs/chips/sodas and one a little farther down had chicken tenders/fries/sodas, but I am not sure if they are always there because I really don't remember them being there before. But overall, they do not really have any selection of foods and the ones they do have are all pretty spaced out, not really good for the largest park.
