OK have booked holiday and realised I will be at DW during the Labour day holiday. Am currently planning our itinerary but am unsure of what to do from the Fri to Mon as I am not sure on crowd levels.

Can anybody let me know what its like both at DW and Universal Parks. Also should I attempt to go to a universal park on the last weekend of August.

Thanks.

Hi, we were there over the labour weekend in 2004 and it was very quiet - but as a hurricane hit during that time I don't think that can be a judge of crowd levels!! I'd previously researched that the Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon is busy, but the week after is usually the quietest time of year (and the prices reflect that), not sure about the week before though, although we found the whole 2 weeks quiet.

I've booked again for Aug/Sep 08 which includes labour weekend, so I'll be interested on others feedback.

we arrived on the thursday of labour weekend 2006,and the sat and sun were packed at disney and downtown disney on saturday night, but after that it gets quiet, not sure on universal,we done our shopping on sunday and it was great,so if its packed ,go shopping.

On our last trip we were at DW for two weeks which included the Labour Day weekend and we didn't really find it any busier at all. In fact we have booked to go back the same time this year.

Labor Day is 1st of September this year (my birthday) and we even managed to book Le Cellier at the time we wanted.

We were also there last year at the same time as Labor Day and didn't really notice mauch difference to other weekends in the parks.:confused3

we got married on labour day in 2005 in WDW, we knew nothing about it until closer to the time.

We noticed no difference in crowds during our holiday or on that day.

If it is busier it shouldn't effect crowds on any other day :goodvibes

Just don't wear white after Labor Day :lmao: they are strange about it over there not sure why they consider it a fashion faux par.The parks might be busy as it is a holiday but the week following it can be quiet so it should be ideal for touring the parks.:surfweb:

WE were there for labour day in 2006 and were told not to expect it to be any busier... well it was VERY busy. We attempted AK but you couldn't move so we ended up back at the hotel pool (which was bearable)

The week after was empty everywhere though so it kind of compensates for the crowds.

Been many times over Labor Day

It is actually only the equivalent of a bank holiday Monday over there - so the hotels may be a little busier over the weekend but really you shouldnt notice a huge difference.

It is more equivalent to one of our May bank holidays than say Easter i.e I dont think that may people travel or do anything special.
