So we haven’t gone since early 2020, because my husband refuses to go without FP. Broke the news to him it’s gone and I told him Labor Day crowds are always low let’s just go next week! To my surprise he agreed.

So I need you all to tell me I wasn’t lying. I know touring plans has it at a 1 or 2 (going Friday through Tuesday), and I pulled up wait times today and 7DMT is at 45 minutes, FOP at 30, lots of 5-10 minutes for good rides. Is it reasonable to expect this same level of lines? Or am I being way too optimistic? I’ve never done Labor Day even with FP so not sure what to expect.

Labor Day week is normally less crowded as other Labor Day can be crowded

I’ve never done such a short trip before (Friday through Tuesday) and can’t decide between three full park days, skipping Epcot, and hitting parks on fly in day, or two park hopper days (sat/mon) starting at hs and ak hopping to ep and mk for fireworks. We’ve always been long trip people and never hopped. It sounds daunting.

Labor Day Weekend is definitely the least crowded holiday weekend IMO. So many families won't want to pull their kids out of school because the year just started. You will most likely see an uptick on Saturday. If you can have one of your park days be on that Monday, that is a better day to visit the parks. I believe the last time we were in the parks on that Monday it seemed less crowded because that is often a travel day for many guests.

Personally, I would do two PH days. We have done two-day trips many times (we love them!) and we find that PH gives us more flexibility so we can hit our personal favorites and jump to another park that might have much lower wait times. Nothing is worse than arriving at your park of choice only to realize the park is way too crowded, and all you see is short lines at another park. For a long stay that's fine, but for such a short visit it can feel like time and money wasted. We also love to get to EPCOT around this time of year to enjoy the F&W Festival, so hopping there is always fun for us.

You can definitely get a lot done in just two days, but you definitely won't be able to see and do everything you love. We usually pick our must-do's that we know we can realistically accomplish and everything else is gravy. With these trips we usually book an off-site hotel with points, use miles for flights, and make the choice to be at the parks all day to get our money's worth. We are exhausted by the end, but it always feels great to have that whirlwind experience and feel like you got to escape the real world a bit.

Have FUN!
