Labor Day Weekend?

hey everybody!
i was just wondering how crowds and such are labor day weekend. we might be planning a spontaneous trip at the end of summer and that weekend would probably be ideal. also if i wanted to book a room at the boardwalk - does it book up fast or would i not have trouble trying to book just a month in advance??? thanks in advance!

I've done two trips over that time period, although they were quite a few years ago. Definately the weekend was more crowded than the following week but it wasn't as bad as Thanksgiving week. I think more people are reluctant to take kids out of school at the beginning of the year. Its definately hot then.

We were at WDW 2 years ago during Labor Day. The week prior was great. Not bad for the crowds, however by the time the weekend got there it was packed. On a Saturday at MK, all the rides in Fantasyland were a 45 min. to an hour wait. We were able to only go on Dumbo and that was because they shut it down to fix a mirror and my Dh stayed in line and waited. On Labor Day when we checked out of the All Star Music they said that resort only was checking out 1,000 rooms. My advice go the week prior, but don't stay the weekend unless you like crowds!!
