This is our first trip to Disney. We are going September 1-8. I planned on is starting out our trip on Saturday at the Magic Kingdom and then Sunday going to Hollywood Studios.
But now I’m rethinking HS. I’m afraid it will be too busy and we may not be able to get Fpp for Sdd at 60+1. Does anyone have any advice on which parks to visit that weekend? I also would like to avoid Epcot that weekend due to food and wine and plan go to to MK on party days for the low crowds. I’ve been studying the posts here for awhile. Thanks you for all your help!

:welcome:

We'll be there at the same time and I have recently changed some things around due to similar concerns. We bagged on HS for Sunday and chose to move it to Thursday, 9/6 instead. I just don't feel like fighting EMH craziness so early in our trip. I am going with my gut on it.

Here's our plan:

Sat 9/1 --might go to MK, as we are staying at the Contemporary. We haven't decided 100% yet.
Sun 9/2 --MK
Mon 9/3 --probably Epcot?
Tues 9/4-- MK in the morning/HS in the evening
Weds 9/5-- Epcot / AK in the evening
Thurs 9/6 --HS / MK combo (not sure what order)
Fri 9/7-- AK
Sat 9/8-- MK then depart for MCO

I can't set anything in stone until after I make FPs on Tuesday, but we plan to mix up rope drop and evenings. We do not plan on being in the parks between 2-4 due to the heat.

I would try and get your HS fast passes first on booking day. It's looking like 60+3 or 4 to get SDD.

Yes, be ready to book your FP first thing in the morning at 60 days. We are going 8/31 to 9/4 and this morning I couldn't book slinky until 9/4, the day we leave.

Not what you asked but I NEVER go to MK on a Saturday as it is always mobbed.

Thank you. I was thinking that since this is our first time we should start at MK. It wouldn’t be a full day and probably just mid to late afternoon start and stay to watch the fireworks.

I'll be there also over Labor Day weekend, but just two days; Saturday and Monday. Mostly for Food and Wine with my daughter and her family (they're locals) with hopes of fitting a few other things in. I'm hoping everyone will be at Toy Story Land leaving Pandora wide open for me LOL.
