Labor day Weekend

Anyone have experience visiting over Labor Day weekend? I noticed there are some great room only rates out there, and are thinking of making a trip during that weekend. The crowd calendar I viewed shows low crowds, but I just don't believe it for some reason.

We were there last year over Labor Day. Crowds were pretty much non-existent. I've never seen the parks so empty. By way of example, we rode Toy Story in the late afternoon with a 20 and 25 minute wait on two different days (posted waits were very inflated...55 minutes one day, 70 the other).

We were there for the Frozen Summer Fun stuff at DHS over Labor Day weekend last year, and crowds were very manageable. Most families wth school age kids will either already be back at school, or they'll leave that Saturday to get ready to go back to school on the Tuesday after the holiday. Our first afternoon was at MK, and while it poured for a bit around 4ish, we found tomorrowland to be empty that evening.

Praying for good this year. I'm headed there with my wife and 3 young ones.

we went last year for my birthday week and it was slow, but it was HOT/HUMID and frankly with the temps being so high/hot already this summer, if knowing it only gets hotter from here, i for one am glad not to be going in late August/September again this year.

We used to live in Florida so we are very used to it. We have been visiting January/Feb, but kind of miss being able to use the pools during our mid day breaks.

So a good secret here. but the holiday weekend is crowded. On Monday of the holiday it will be busy in the morning then as the day goes on the place will empty out a bit. Tuesday thru Friday the parks will be at the perfect levels for the rides. Most lines less then 10 minutes if not less. Some you can walk right on. The weekends will pick up again. One of the best times of the year to go.

Crowds were relatively low last year, but Labor Day is a week later this year. The big unknown is, does this extra week influence the crowd levels?

The largest crowd we witnessed last year was Saturday at HS for the Frozen junk. Avoid it if you are not participating.

Labor Day weekend is a very nice holiday weekend to go. Most kids now are either back in school or are getting ready to go back to school. My grandkids moved to Maryland recently and they start school in August as do kids here in Georgia. True, it is a holiday but most families are just getting back to "normal" after the start of school season.

We are arriving on the 5th, so very excited to hear that the crowd levels will be low.

Went last year over the holiday, and going back again this year. We went to Epcot on Labor Day, and actually arrived about 10 minutes after "official" park opening (they might have opened earlier but we do not know). I was panicked because we had a fastpass+ for TT but not for Soarin so my plan was to arrive at rope drop and bust a move over to Soarin. Well, thanks to bus delays, we arrived late. But we walked right onto Soarin and then turned around and walked right onto TT, waiting to use our fastpass+. I remember it being warm, but not intolerable (we live in Iowa). Loved having the low crowds. I can handle the heat if I have low crowds like that again. We too, noticed inflated wait times at all parks consistently over the next few days. My daughter walked up to RnR at HS and the wait said 1000 minutes. My husband looked at the CM, and he said "sorry, it's a joke. It's walk on". That was at 12:30 in the afternoon on Wednesday of the week following.

Good point - bring sunscreen and misters or whatever you want to use to cool off because a Florida September is not actually "fall". More like high summer in most years.
