So I keep reading many different views about Labor Day weekend.... some say that it will be crowded, while others state that this is one of the better holiday weekends to go. I'm going to be down there the 1st - 6th..... anyone been down there in years prior? Any thoughts?

In 2002 and 2004 we went the Saturday before Labor Day and left the following Saturday. This year we'll be there the same week, 9/3 - 9/10 :Pinkbounc

Anyway, my experience is that it's really crowded at MK on the Saturday before LD. MGM is kind of crowded and Epcot and AK are not. Sunday the crowds drop dramatically, still only slightly crowded at MK, max 30 min waits on the most popular attractions. By Monday? Dead. We didn't wait for anything longer than 10 minutes anywhere. We walked on Space Mountain, waited about 10 for Splash. At MGM we never waited longer than 10 mins for either ToT or RnRC. It's GREAT. I almost regret it (not really) but our kids literally ran through the queue at Kali River Rapids and it has some great theming.

I don't know if the free dining plan will affect the crowds at the parks (certainly at the restaurants) but given the low levels during "normal" years, it would have to be significantly huge throngs of people to make a difference. Have fun! :wizard:

I don't know how it is that weekend, but when we went on Labor day and the days after it was fine, no waits for anything. That was in 2000. I think anytime, Sat in MK is packed. We were there in Nov and Sat in MK was a zoo. If you plan for a different park on a Sat. you should be ok.
