Yesterday I was making plans to go to either Atlanta or Toronto on Labor Day weekend and then something possessed me to check airfares to Orlando... exactly as you would expect, I am now going to DisneyWorld for Labor Day weekend :cool1:

Can anyone give me an idea of what crowds will be like? I'm taking my 13 yr old niece with me. We'll be there from Aug 30th to Sept 5th and staying at Pop Century. I was thinking about signing up for TourGuideMike's site, but if crowds drop off a lot on that weekend, I may not bother with too much planning. What do you think?

I'm also going around that time (9/2 - 9/10) so am interested to hear what others have to say. According to what I've read and seen on touringplans.com, it is mildly busy that weekend, and then on Labor Day itself, the crowds dissipate. Here's hoping that they're right :goodvibes

It's been a while, but I went from the Friday before LD to the Friday after back in 1999 and the crowds were practically non-existent. No more than a 20-minute wait for any ride and we never had to use FP. Even over the long weekend - during those first 3 days, we were able to do Epcot, MK, and MGM and literally see EVERYTHING.

Yeah, not a lot of people go after around August 25th and until the end of September because that's when school starts. The locals are getting ready or are already back by late August, and the tourists don't want to come before school starts.

If you can handle the heat, it's a good time to go.

We aregoing 9/2-9/10 also. We went in 2003 over Labor day weekend and it was very busy Sat, Sun and Monday. Tuesday the park was empty, but that was before free dining existed. :confused3

I wish I'd thought of this a few weeks ago because I would have booked the free dining. I wonder how much that will impact crowds in the parks. Good to know that the park won't be as packed out as it is during other parts of the summer, but it sounds like I will put together an itinerary after all to maximize ride time :)

Thanks all!
