Hi,

We are planning a trip for summer 2016. We have only been to UIA for a few hours during our son's wish trip 5 years ago and have never been to US. We are planning 2 days at Universal, probably the Sat/Sun of Labor Day weekend. We are a family of 6 with kids getting older and taller every year, so sharing beds is not an option. We have booked a house close to WDW as we are planning 4 days there.

So, here's my thoughts ... as much as he'd like to do more, my husband can't do many rides as he gets motion sickness from most of them, so he doesn't really need the express pass. I'm thinking if we booked one small room for one night, just to get express passes for 5 of us it would be a win-win. We could take a break in the room/hotel pool in the later afternoon, take advantage of the express passes for 2 days and still sleep at the house where the kids can all have their own beds. This is hugely cheaper then buying one day of express passes in the park, so can someone explain to me what I'm missing here?

How busy are the parks that weekend? Are express passes necessary to accomplish most everything in 2 full days?

Any other thoughts?Opinions?Ideas for our situation?

Thanks :)

with Kong opening next year in the summer, i will assume crowd levels can increase.

i'm sure others do what you have planned.
rent two places at the same time and break your group up for a few nights or one night which ever way you chose.

have him drop the 5 of you off at the onsite hotel, then park the car at the garage.
garage parking for the day would be cheaper than hotel parking.

the 5 of you would get the unlimited express for the day you check in and the day you check out of the hotel.

This is what we are doing. We just really need the space from a condo or house (already reserved) I figure the express pass would be most worth it on Sat and Sun. Even though it sounds like we could see everything in the time we have (3 or 4 days-I haven't decided yet) my teens really felt unlimited express was worth giving up something else. My husband likes the early entry. I think it is a great perk myself, so we will most likely reserve a night, use express pass both days and early entry on Sunday am.
