We are thinking of going for a week beginning the sat before Labor Day and staying for 1 week after...it will be our second trip with our 4 year old. How is weather and crowds? Any tips would be appreciated...

Thanks
Meaghan

For weather, you're picking just about the worst week of the year (brutally hot, brutally humid, high risk of hurricane).

For crowds, you're picking the best week of the year (probably the lowest-crowd week all year).

hurricanes season peak around then, but they dont effect Orlando hardly at all ever..only air travel sometimes might get tough

We went the Friday before Labor Day though the following Saturday last year and while it was hot and one day with rain, the crowds were low allowing us to get on rides rather quickly.

This is the week we travel to WDW the most. It is FL hot, but I felt like July/August was slightly worse. The lower crowds make it easy for us to take afternoon breaks to swim and return after dinner. Even only touring in the morning and evening, we see and do everything we want.

The last time we had an issue with a hurricane was 2004. In 2004 it caused our trip to be delayed. But really, we haven't even endured the daily summer storms that you would expect.

We do purchase travel insurance though, and stress about the weather weeks leading up to our departure...and yet we still keep booking that time!

We were there over Labor Day last year. It was extremely hot/humid, but the crowds were very low. We made use of rope drop and then used the afternoons to swim/relax by the pool. We walked into Epcot via the IG about 9:15 and walked right on Soarin'. It was amazing!

We went in 2015, 2014 and 2013 and it was great, and this is coming for someone who absolutely hates the heat. I'm not going to lie, the heat does beat me up while I am there, but the low crowds are great and each day it typically will rain 30 minutes to an hour and it really helps to cool things down for a while. We'll be back the same time this year :)

DLR has their marathon over labor day and so it can get sketchy but I noticed that WDW had Super low DVC points and availability even outside the 7 mos window.

So it sounds like it'd be a good time as long as you're ok with the weather. Last yr we went in early March and it was humid and hot all week so I just always feel FL is humid and hot. We went the first time over memorial day and we did get rained out every day so I would just assume you might get rain at times but it'd be fleeting and assume more hot and humid all the time.
