What have labor day weekend crowds been like in the past. We are rethinking when we go and wonder what the end of August/early Sept. is like.
Does Labor Day have a huge affect on crowds? OR should we go earlier and plan on leaving before Labor Day weekend to avoid crowds, or are the summer crowds still there? And is the weather just WaY to hot for that to be an acceptable time to go?
I remember reading somewhere that summer was the worst tiem to go because of heat and crowd but since many schools have started by this time it may be better im thinking. The week i am considering is in Value season so that also leads me to beleive i might be correct about less crowds.

Correct me if i am wrong though.
Thanks in advance...

I have been to WDW the last 2 Labor Day weekends and honestly they werent bad at all.. TGenerally I fly in that Friday night so that I can get up early Saturday morning and start at the parks.. Then I have Saturday, Sunday and Monday and get a late flight on Monday and back to work on Tuesday and I havent missed any days..The weather was a little warm in the afternoons but not unbearable.. Of course there were crowds, but it wasnt that bad at all.. I dont think we waited more than 15-20 minutes in any line.. Now we did utilize fastpass where we could which helped tremendously! A few things to keep in mind is if you are staying at one of the WDW resorts that they have certain days where different parks either open early or stay open late.. We did many of these and it worked for us.. The one that was in the evening at MK was great.. The park was open till I think 1 am.. alot of people were out of there by 11, so we walked on just about everything after that until we decided to leave..

I have been over Springbreak twice, over LaborDay twice and over 4th of July once and so far my favorite has been LaborDay.. I would do it in a heart beat.. I will say that I will never go in July again! I live in Texas and am used to the heat but I will say it was extremely hot and I dont know if I would do that again.. I hoped to be able to go next LD weekend but I guess I'll have to see about that as we are planning a big family trip in 2008.. but I may see if I can save here and there to pay for it since I still have 4 days left on my pass..

I have heard others say that its good to go over LD weekend and then to stay a few more days as the parks are really crowd free immediately after that Monday since everyone else goes back to work..

We went this year during the week before Labor Day. We left on Saturday before Labor Day. We were in Magic Kingdom til about noon and the crowds were tremendous. People kept pouring in! The other days at all the parks were fine. It was pretty hot, though, but we survived. It felt wonderful to go back to the hotel around 3 pm for a swim. I think it rained at least 5 of the afternoons, but not for long. Get out to the parks early and take a break in the afternoon. We didn't do any EMH - tried pretty hard to stay away from them due to the crowds. We were lured to WDW at this time of year by free dining. We also drove, so we saved on the airfare, and were able to stop by Hilton Head Island on the way down!

So, you would be suggesting leaving before Labor Day crowds hit and not being there during Labor Day Weekend?
That is probably what we'll do then...
That means August 25- Sept. 1 then.
Thanks you guys

Anyone else have experiences to help me out?

We got there the day after Labor Day this year, and there were NO CROWDS at all. We usually go the last week in September, which also has no crowds.

The problem with that is that school starts after labor day for me.
I can't miss a week of school...

We live in Virginia, so we left around 1 pm and drove about 8 hours, then stopped for the night. We got home on Sunday afternoon, so we had the rest of Sunday and Monday to get ready for school. It may be that other parks are not as crowded on Saturday as MK was. I heard that is the worst day to go there.

Sounds like a good idea, probably what we'll be doing, or similiar, no driving, we are from minnesota
