I read somewhere a while ago about putting a label with the child's information inside their shirt incase they're lost. I was just going to print some up and wondered exactly what sort of information I should put.:confused3 Would you suggest:

IF LOST PLEASE CALL

XXX-XXX-XXXX

Or something more specific with the child's name/our names? THANKS!!

We made tags for our girls at Petsmart. We put their first name on there and our cell phone numbers. We put them through their shoelaces.

We ended up writing on our kids backs with a sharpie. I know, sounds kind of crazy, but it worked.

When we went I made some laminated tags that punched a hole in then used a band to loop it through my son's belt loop on his pants - we put "My parents are lost! Please call them at xxx" on one side, then on the other we put "we are staying at the DLH" with an alternate cell #.

I love the pet tag idea!

Yep, that's what I would put. "If lost, please call my mom (your name) at xxx....)

Make sure your child is knows to show an CM where the info is.

We did the safety tattoos so it would be something that couldn't fall off or get lost (our DD takes her shoes off all the time). It said " IF lost, please call ...." our cell number.

What are safety tatoos? I have never heard of them! Where do you get them?

You wrote on your childs back with a permanent marker? I have never heard of this being done...I would be really freaked out that somehow the ink would get into their blood or something wierd....I think I would feel better maybe writing it on the inside of a shirt or something..?!?!

We printed up a page of mailing labels
(didn't laminating them) and stuck one to the back shoulder of her tee shirt layer (Under the sweatshirt & poncho) each morning.

If lost, please call
Mom XXX-XXX-XXXX
Dad XXX-XXX-XXXX

This was more for my peace of mind than anything else.
DD is very good about staying close to us.

She does know our numbers, but if she was scared or upset
I wanted her to have a way to communicate.

We play "I spy a cast member" the first entry of each trip.
I point out their nametags and reminder her that they can all communicate with each other to help us find each other if needed.

four weeks until we go for Grandma's birthday :yay:

I've also seen labels that are specifically meant to go in the inside of a shoe with the child's info. We bought our DS a bracelet that velcros on and under a velcro flap it has all the info. It also has a little medical alert sign on it too which I heard is good to have, even if your child doesn't have a medical issue because it gets the attention of whoever found your child. You can get the bracelets and the shoe labels on the internet.

We ordered silicone bracelets from the internet for $2 (like the Lance Armstrong ones) that said "Mom cell # ****** Dad cell # ******). DD wore it around her ankle, it was pretty easy to get on but would not come off on accident.
