We are leaving for WDW in 6 days (!!!), but I wanted to share this tip in case it hasn't been posted lately.

Use a label-maker and put your last name and cell phone number on each important item that might get lost on your trip. If you're like me, you always have your cell phone handy.

This is much better than just writing your name and address, because you could get the item back right away.

For example, if I found an autograph book with 50 wonderful memories inside, and I turned to the front cover to see a name and phone number, I would call the number right away so I could return the child's keepsake.

Wouldn't you?

We have tried putting address labels on everything of value that we take to the parks: walkie-talkies, camera, video camera, back packs, etc...

Came in very handy when DD left her walkie-talkie in a car at the speedway in Magic Kingdom. Didn't realize it until we had left the ride and was in line at Buzz Lightyear. When we went back the CM asked for the name and address before he would give it back and said we were very lucky to have put the address label on it!

Would never leave home without them again. In fact, I take a bunch of extra ones with just in case!

There is also a company out there that you can put stickers for their toll free number and they will accept and mail the item to you and no need for someone to have your addy.

If you have a cell that plan works out great but we don't have one though everyone else with us will so I think I will put that number on any important stuff.

A great idea I just wanted to put that out there for those who don't have cells. Yes there are still some of us out there. :hyper:

I've started labelling the kids, too! You can never tell when you might become separated, no matter how closely you watch them. I stick a business card in their pocket or on a trade show necklace inside their shirt.

The last time I was at MK, we saw an employee helping a crying child who was obviously lost. Our hearts were breaking for the frightened child. A few minutes later, the employee approached alone. My DW asked him about the child. He smiled and said that they haven't lost a parent yet! :D
