I was once a customer of theirs about 6 years ago. I never finished my "plan". In fact, they ended up keeping much of my prepaid food, as I was, quite honestly, too embarrassed to go back - and frustrated.

So, today my answering machine had a message on it. It was somewhat garbled. But it DID mention the food that I paid for that I never ate. That part I could hear.

I have been thinking about going back for a while now, especially as I am watching a buddy of mine drop 40 pounds in 3 months ( he still has about 100 to go, so these 40 are the "easy" ones ).

I am going to call back. But Iwas wondering, do you think they will apply all my money that I "lost" if I join up again for a full service program? I know that I will NOT commit a lot of money again, due to my experience last time.

What do you think they will offer me to come back, if anything?

Deuce, think of them as used car salesmen. They are going to do whatever it takes to get you in there, get you signed up, and keep you coming back.

Their motivation is money. You have to have the motivation to lose the weight before you can be successful.

My best friend owns a weight loss center in a small town. She has made more money than I can really tell you about. She started a weight loss center of her own after she lost 100 lbs. on a plan a lot like LA Weight Loss. She's hugely successful in her business.

But her secret in keeping it off? Stomach by-pass surgery. She can't divulge her secret to anyone, and I sure am not going to be the one to let the cat out of the bag for her.

My point in telling you this: YOU have to be the one to decide what you're going to do and how you're going to handle your weight issue. You know the basics: eat fewer calories than you expend, and exercise every day.

You can try every trick you want to get to that point. You can be one of the millions who spend billions to lose the weight. Or you can just do it on your own.

Granted, that means you can't be eating 3 lbs. of brisket and all the baked beans every week. And it probably means you need to DIS half as much, spending what's left of your time moving your body.

I'm right there with you. I know what you're going through. I've got a few dozen to lose myself. I say don't give them any more of your hard-earned cash. Keep it. Save for a Mediterranean Disney Cruise for the family...something you'll promise you'll do as soon as you drop the pounds you want to lose.

What better motivation is there? Spending time with the family, with the mouse, worshiping the sun, butt-down in the sand on Castaway Cay, and watching beautiful bodies bask in the beauty of the sea...

Funny timing on this. A friend of mine just went back to LA weightloss after several months off. What they did was they didn't use up her credit or whatever for the foods she had already paid for or go into her maintenance or stabilization weeks so all she had to pay for was the added on cost for the weeks of weightloss that she will have to add on. She said it was not nearly as much as she was figuring it was going to be.

I totally disagree with Rafiki. Losing weight is so much easier with group herd mentality and a weekly weigh-in. Good luck!

Well ,Triple R, As much as I LOVE my BBQ, I actually eat very little. My main joy comes in making others happy with my cooking. I do get your point. Also, I DIS a lot from work, not so much at home. This is OK with work as long as I get my job done without mistakes.......

Still, I "got" the gist of your whole post! Thanks! :thumbsup2
