Doing our 2nd driving trip to WDW this year from the Northeast, and I'm looking to save a few dollars on the overnight stay for the trip down and back. Our last trip, we stayed at a Marriot\Fairfield in Savannah Georgia which was very nice, clean, good staff etc., but ran just over $100 per night.

We are driving down again in August, and I have been searching for a place to stay in the Savannah\I95\Exit 94 area again. I have a rezzie at the same place we stayed before, but came across a La Quinta Inn in the same area, for roughly $55 per night. The pics look good, but I can't find any on line reviews, and have never stayed at one before.

Any comment or input on La Quinta in general? I don't need the Taj, but would like as clean as possible. :)

Thanks

We stayed at one around the corner from Busch Gardens Tampa and were pleased.

There are 2 designs. One has all inside rooms and corridors. The other has rooms with doors that open up to the outside.

For security purposes, some people like the inside room/corridor design.

Ours served a quick breakfast and it was fine.

I would stay there again.

Thanks on that. Most seem to have decent reviews around the country, I just hate it when I can find one in the specific area I'm looking to stay in. Still, it's nearly half the cost of the Fairfield. More money for Disney souvenirs. :)

We stayed at the La Quinta near the Pittsburgh Airport a couple years ago and it was very nice. The room was super clean, the beds were comfy and the continental breaksfast in the morning had a lot of to go choices which was perfect for people running out the door to catch a flight. One of the nicer places we have stayed. :thumbsup2

Not sure what your exact date is or # in your group but I just did a Hotwire search for Aug 21 for 2 adults. The section you're looking for is what Hotwire calls 'Savannah Southside'.
It showed a 3* for $53 per night and a 2.5* for $52. Both offer free breakfast.

The 2.5* shows a tripadvisor rating of 3.5 out of 5 which is decent.

Maybe try Expedia just to see how many options are in that area?
