Hi , I have just booked to see the show when we visit in October . My DH & DS are not very excited about it and are saying it is just one they are doing for me . I dragged them to see Lion King in London's west end and I know they ended up loving it . Has anyone see the show ?

we've seen La Nouba 4 or 5 times - so clearly we like it! :)

the entire family, DH, DD, DS and i....all 4 of us enjoy it.

it's nothing like the lion king - when we saw lion king on broadway, all 4 of us hated it..

so perhaps that will convince your DS and DH?

La Nouba is all about extraordinary acrobatic skills....nothing at all like the west end lion king (which as i mentioned, i hated)...

certainly have, we went October last year and had seats right at the stage, could reach out and touch it. Mrs Stoat is an old curmugeon and afterwards she said that she had only looked at her watch once during the performance. She was astonished that an hour had already gone past. Bottom line is its a very good spectacle with something always happening on some part of the stage, you will have a great evening out.

Seen both La Nouba and Lion King twice.
Lion King we all love, the film was released the year DS was born so a special film/show to our family.

La Nouba, saw it many years ago, DW & DS enjoyed it, I didn't. Thought it was way too expensive for what it was (paid for most expensive seats)
Went back again about 3 years ago using a Travelzoo offer, good discount. enjoyed it more the 2nd time but still not my type of show, give me Blue Man Group any day.

We also saw another Cirque show 'O' in Vegas. I can watch them but don't come out thinking "wow that was amazing" although others do, we can't all like the same kind of show.

we saw both "O" and "la mystere" (both cirque shows) in las vegas, and while we thought they were ok, we didn't enjoy them nearly as much as la nouba..

as for la nouba seats...the first two times we saw it, we also sat in the front in the most expensive seats..

then on the third time, they only had the very back row available and we enjoyed it just as much from the cheap seats...so that's what we've bought since...including when i took my mom and sister when i was there with them...

edit:
i just remembered when we were there two years ago with the whole gang (DH, me, DD, DSIL, DS, DDIL) we again sat in the expensive seats...and this time those clowns got us...they interacted with DH....it was very funny.....and surprisingly, DH had a very funny comeback to them :)

Hi , not really heard about Blue Man before (first time at Florida this year ) . What is the show like ? My son is 12 . Sorry to be a pain asking so much . Going in October booked Mickey Halloween party as well , could just do with 3 weeks not two !!!

Saw La Nouba in 2011 and The Lion King in Manchester this year. No similarities whatsoever. La Nouba is all about the spectacle, the acrobatics and I personally like the live soundtrack! The Lion King is again a spectacle, but is a musical moreso. I liked both, but being Disney, both were quite pricey!

Ha ye I think it's the price that puts my DH off , I know they are both different but its like most things with my DH he says to my son " Well that's one for your mum " and then once I drag them to these things they do actually enjoy them . Where as if they try dragging me to see a James Bond movie I just pass until its on TV and I have no interest in DS Xbox games LOL .

my DH isn't a disneyholic the way DD, DS and i are (and now also my kids spouses)....but he's happy to be with us where we're happy....and that place is WDW!! :goodvibes

I took my daughter who was 9 at the time, to see La Nouba 2 years ago. I had some reservations as to whether she would enjoy it all the way through because it is so long. I worried in vain! She literally sat perched on the end of her seat completely entranced in the show from beginning to end and before we even got out of our seats at the end she looked at me and said "Can we watch it again tomorrow?"

It's on my must do list for next year again. We loved it and I am amazed that I could actually pay the cost of the tickets and still look at it and say it was money well spent. We are definitely fans! :thumbsup2

We have seen it three times and really enjoy it. My fiance likes it just as much as I do. They do change it up a bit from year to year a little. The Chinese spindel girls will knock everyone's socks off. They are worth the price of admission alone!

i like the guy who 'flies' on the long red ribbons....he takes my breath away!!!
i could watch him for an hour...
he's worth the price of admission for me!!

but i enjoy all of it....the only one i didn't enjoy so much was the guy on the chairs, but the last time i saw it, he wasn't in it....so maybe he was sick? or maybe they changed it?

another part totally worth the price of admission for me is the big finish with the 'building'...that just amazes me every time....

Personally I would take a 12 year old boy to Blue Man Group over La Nouba, both myself & my Son love BMG, last time we went we used this company, cheapest I could find http://www.floridatix.co.uk/blue-man-group.aspx?nav=Home

we seen it several years ago, all my kids loved it, they were 4,7 and 10 at the time. i was worried that my 4 year old would get bored but she was amazed by it all. Myself and dh also loved it and it is a possibility for next year again

Brilliant thank you . I will be having a look at that and to see if we can fit it all in as I have selfishly booked La Nouba . got to remember it is not all about me !! Just wish my DH&DS would help me plan and show the same kind of excitement as me . So I really appreciate all the help from everyone on here : ) thanks everyone

YouTube have some clips of it if you want to get an idea or La Nouba. Personally we didn't enjoy it much and wouldn't go again. But I have seen several other Cirque shows in Vegas which we enjoyed (LOVE is by far my favourite) and I also have a few on DVD. I don't know why it didn't do it for us but it just didn't:confused3
