We will be taking a quick trip to Disney in October with just our daughter - she will be almost 4.5 years old then. I wanted to do something fun and different on our first night there. I was thinking of La Nouba. My husband and I have been to other Cirque du Soleil shows and have loved them. However, I am wondering if my four year old would be old enough to enjoy it. She has no problem sitting through a 1.5 - 2 hour show (we take her to movies, Disney on Ice shows, etc). However, we have never taken her to a unique show like this and I am wondering if it would be fun for her. Has anyone else taken a child her age and what did they think?

Thanks!

Take her! She will love it. It is meant for family's the music is wonderful. My daughter started watching the video when she was 4 and we took her for her 5th birthday. It was great!

You know you child better than anyone and if she will sit through it go for it.

My 3.5 year old sat through the Lion King in Londons West End which was 2 hours 45 mins and loved every moment of it. If she can sit through other shows she should be fine with this one.

If she can sit, its a wonderful show.

We were a little disappointed when we first took our kids (they were just slightly older than yours) in their reaction. We had a wonderful time - they just didn't understand that what they were seeing was incredible. They were entertained, but not amazed - and we discovered we'd really gone for us, not for them. They enjoyed it, but they enjoyed pretty much everything at Disney at that age that we did with them. A few years later, and they are amazed by Cirque shows.

We took our dd when she had just turned 4. She had an amazing time and sat mesmorised the whole time

Thanks everyone!

Based on everyone's replies, I think we'll go ahead and buy tickets. While she may appreciate it a bit more when she's older, it sounds like it will still be enjoyable at her age now...and my DH and I would love to see it too!

I took my 2 year old and she liked it quite a bit only a small part of it was she disinterseted and my 15 year old neice still talks about it and we went back in october lol (brought my neice to help with my toddler)

I took my 4 year old and my 7 year old in August. They're too very active, wiggly little boys and they sat through the whole thing with no problems. They were captivated.

My seven year old said "La Nouba was very beautiful." which is about as expressive as he gets. :rotfl:

My 3 and 6 year olds loved it. We went on our busiest day so they were exhausted and both fell asleep. But, they fought sleep hard!! They wanted to watch so badly! We'll go again. :)

We're all on the DIS boards because we love Disney and there's always something new to learn.

Tonight I've been "visiting" lots of different boards (nothing on TV!) and came across this one. I was really interested in the positive replies. I went to LaNouba two years ago and I thought it was a tad long, so I'm a bit embarassed to see how many of you have young ones who were enthralled throughout. Must admit - the Chinese girls were amazing!!!

Way to go parents that you take your kids to cultural events at such young ages. :thumbsup2
