My family would really like to see this show next June. I am thinking of going on a Friday after spending the day at AK. We would like to eat dinner around 5:30ish at Boma and then see the 9:00 show. My DD are teens. (14 and 17) so the late night shouldn't be a problem.

Is this plan a good one??

Is this show worth the money? I was thinking category 2 tickets.

If we get another 4/3 deal for June, we will absolutely do it, but if we don't get this, I am wondering about spending the money. I can't decide!!!!

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Is this plan a good one??

Sure. My only concern would be it is a lot of running around if you aren't staying at AKL. I'd rather leave the park, go back to the hotel, shower/change and have dinner either at/near my resort, or at DTD, then see La Nouba.

If it were me, I'd switch it around, see the 6pm La Nouba show and hit Raglan Road around 9 when the band starts up for a late dinner. I've done that before and it was really a highlight of the trip.

Is this show worth the money? I was thinking category 2 tickets.

Absolutely worth it. I honestly think it is the single best thing at disney world. Many people think the cat. 2 seats are better than the cat 1 and the 'front and center'. There really isn't a bad seat in the house.

Good luck.

I love Cirque Du Soliel, it is a great show, and absolutely worth the money.
The cat 2 seating is great, I always buy that category and I've always had a good seat. To me sitting up too close really is not a good idea because then you are constantly looking up and that can be uncomfortable.
If you have dinner at 5:30 at Boma, you will be done way too early, (in my opinion) to go right over to DTD. You'll be done dinner by 6:15 or so and then if you take the bus over to DTD ftom the AKL, figure you'll be there by 7:15. They tell you to get to the 'tent" about a half an hour prior to showtime, so you've got some time on your hands.
I've always done the early show, I go to the parks until 3:00 or so and then go back to my room to shower etc. I either eat a late lunch or have a snack before going over to DTD. After the show I am ready for my dinner, the House of Blues, Ragalan Road are 2 of my favorites but there are other places to eat so you have a good selection.

Thank you. You have given me something to think about. I like the idea of the 6:00 show and then dinner. I'll have to run it by the family.

We are not staying at AKL. We are staying at CSR. DH has his heart set on Boma, but that could be another day. I've never even looked at the menu for Raglan Road. Is it on the DP?

I'm glad that the Category 2 seats are good. That makes me feel good.

I'll take any other suggestions.

We went to La Nouba last November and thought it was well worth the money. Our DS13 and DS15 loved it as well. We had Category I tickets but don't know if that was necessary as most of the seats looked really good. So, I definitely wouldn't do that again. We WOULD go to the show again, though.

La Nouba is one of the best Cirques we have ever seen and definately worth the money. Spend your day in AK and head to your room, freshen up, have dinner in DTD (House of Blues is the closest) and then enjoy the show.

Go in early as the preshow is great as well.

If you can afford it La Nouba is definitely worth it. Our kids were 10 and 13 and loved it. We had cat 2 tickets, we were first row of seond level, awesome seats. I remember agonizing about cat 1 or cat 2 and everyone here said go cat 2 and they were right.

We did the 6pm show then dinner at Wolfgang Pucks. I brought a small snack for us to eat during show but we were famished after and it made us all crabby. You know long day in the park and a late dinner not so great for kids, even teens or preteens. We really should have eaten something more before the show. FWIW we weren't thrilled with WPCafe but frankly we were so hungry and tired we weren't in a good mood to judge.

We love La Nouba, it is totally worth it. But I agree with other poster if you are not staying at AKL I would go to eat dinner at DTD instead.

What time is the 6pm show over? We are going in Jan and are trying to decide whether to eat dinner before or after because we are going to be picking up my SIL and BIL at the airport at 10:30. (This is before the Disney portion of our trip. We are spending a few days with my husband's grandparents in the area first.)

I have seen La Nouba many times and always found it to be a fabulous show. I have also been to Boma and it is a great restaurant. I personally like your original plan. Go to Boma, then walk around at DTD for a while to walk off the fabulous meal then enjoy the show. Dont miss the pre show, it is funny and enjoyable. Category 2 seats are fine, you dont need category 1. All category 2 seats are good. Well worth the money. Enjoy:goodvibes

We just saw this show last April. I will give you my personal opinion, and that is to NOT go to a park that day. See this show on a rested, day off. I made the huge mistake of doing Epcot the day of the show, and was literally falling asleep during the entire show!! I was so mad at myself that I had wasted that money. So if you have the choice, I strongly suggest you do the pool, and relax all day. It is so worth being very much rested, then you can enjoy it, alert.:thumbsup2

The show lasts 90 minutes.

I agree that the Cirque tickets are worth the money. We had Category 2 tickets and they were just fine. Actually, after finally attending a show, I think next time I'd take the cheapest tickets available. I agree Cat 1's might be too close and I would think Cat 3's would be fine as well. There aren't any seats that are far away and in some ways, being further back gives you a better perspective on all that is going on.

What we did was go to the 6 PM show, then did a 7:45 dinner at House of Blues. Worked out just fine. The show runs right to 7:30, then it takes a few minutes to get out, but it isn't bad.

Have fun!

This is a very good suggestion, but we are only there 6 days. We won't do a day without a park. That's why I thought AK day might work because we can finish the park in the afternoon and maybe take a break before heading to DTD. I think Boma is out this trip. DH has now seen the menu for Raglan Road and is gaga!!!:lmao:

Thanks again for all of your help.

I took my mom to see the early show and then we had dinner at DTD at 8:15 - timing was perfect. We had cat 1 tix and both of us thought it was to close to get the full experience.

If I do a 6:00 pm show on a Saturday, what time should I make a reservation at O'hana? I was thinking 8:00pm.

I'm the OP, so I'm not an expert, but 8:00 might be tight at O'Hana's. The show won't be over until 7:30. If you are driving, you will have to get to your car fast. If you are taking Disney Transportation, the bus would have to be sitting at the stop. I would try a little later, and if you get to Poly earlier, you can walk around or get a drink.

Maybe someone else can help that has been to La Nouba. I would think, like any other show, you would have to wait a little while to clear the theater.

An aside, we did O'Hanas in June and loved it!!!!

If you have your own car, I wouldn't make it for anytime before 8:15. I'd probably make it for 8:30, just to be safe. If you're relying on Disney transportation, I'd make it for 9:00.

Yea, as I said we ate at WPC right there in DTD and the show was longer than I'd thought it would be. Our ressie was for 8pm and we were hustling as I recall to get there... and starving as I had said. :) But I can't remember the exact timing.
