Well, sorta...

If you've ever wanted to see Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba while visiting WDW, but weren't sure -- here's your chance. La Nouba is being shown on Bravo this Saturday, April 23 at 8 Eastern, 7 Central.

It's a great show; I actually like it better than "O" at the Bellagio in Vegas.

If you have children who you are thinking about taking to La Nouba, here's a suggestion. Record it and play it for them a few times before the trip. They will love it, and will get much more out of the performance. My 3 y/o DD provided such a running commentary on the show, the gentleman next to me finally asked, "How many times has she seen this show???" Seriously, though, the kids will get a lot out of the live performance if you preview it for them.

One note of caution: Watching La Nouba (or any Cirque show, for that matter) on TV is absolutely nothing like seeing it in person!!!! It's just not the same experience because there is so much going on on the stage, and on TV you are forced to watch what the camera is showing you.

Having said that, I am looking forward to seeing the show Sat. night. We have been to La Nouba the past two trips, and have decided not to see it on this trip. I'm going to miss seeing it, but I agree w/ DH that the $250 would be better spent elsewhere. If you have never seen the show, I do encourage you to watch it on Bravo on Sat., but keep in mind that seeing it in person is much, much better!

I agree with that, but... We have the Allegria, Verekai, and La Nouba DVD's, which I'm sure is the same thing they will show on Bravo. The La Nouba video captures that show much better than any of the other videos.

You don't get the perspective of how high the high wire is (or the male? singer, for that matter), nor can you really take in all of the closing powertrack number, or fully appreciate the jumps the bicyclist makes from the roof of the building, to the platform, and then down to the stage. And you won't get the feel of the audience, which is absolutely electric in person.

But the video is pretty darn good. MUCH better than Allegria or Verekai, and definitely worth watching.

I just set the timer!! Thank you very much for sharing this info!! :wizard:

I realize it won't be like seeing it live, but we are breaking the bank as it is to afford this trip, and this will be the next best thing!

Thanks again!

That's good to know! I have been debating whether or not to buy the DVD when we're there; now I think I will.

I LOVE Cirque and have been to almost all of the shows. Mystere being my favorite !!! (Yes even over "O"!)I have watched a few of them on Bravo but they in no way do the shows justice !!! I will look forward to seeing what makes this one diffrent. Thanks !! :flower:

Watch it on Bravo and then decide. I'm sure they will broadcast the DVD. That's what they do with Allegria and Verekai.

Just wanted to add a little trivia for you...the Bravo premier is in coorespondence to the 3,000th show. La Nouba will be performing it's 3,000th show at 9pm on Saturday... So if you are watching it on Bravo Saturday night just think in one hour (since Bravo is showing it at 8pm) the performers will be meeting a milestone in La Nouba's history :)

I watched it last night and loved it!!!! Thanks so much for bringing it to my attention. We have never gone (I don't like going anywhere where you have to sit for more than an hour). First thing this morning I tried to buy tickets for our upcoming trip (short notice I know but was hoping for a cancellation or availability on a slower night) :sad2: They aren't performing the whole time we are there in June. But I thought ok, we going down in November too :sad2: they aren't performing then either. I'm so bummed.
